Would Diverticulitis Be Accepted?

Recommended Posts

I have been diagnosed with Diverticulitis and have painful episodes in right my side, it is similar to Chron's but not as severe. I want to find out if I could qualify for my card. I can get my records from my GI doctor that indicated the pain, not sure if she said it was chronic or acute, but it's ongoing. Would the records from a gastroenterologist be ok, or does it require it come from a primary doctor and not specialist?

Records from your Gastroenterologist would be usable if they indicated a condition covered by the MMMact.     Diverticulitis can cause severe pain and severe nausea.  If you have severe pain and/or nausea and it is indicated in your records, you should not have too much difficulty qualifying.

Just for reference, Crohn's and diverticulitis are VERY different, although some of the symptoms are the same :)
