LITTLE NEED TO FRET OVER MEDICAL POT

RE: JOURNAL editorial on medical marijuana Seriously Albuquerque Journal? Thirteen thousand New Mexicans are eligible for medical marijuana through the state program and you are already referring to New Mexico as "a stoner's paradise"?

Any idea how many New Mexicans are on prescription medicines? My gosh, just the TV commercials alone have disclaimers of side effects that read like a short story.  Compare that list to that of medical pot.  The relief to pain and suffering that marijuana provides to patients is effective and real.  Why the worry about the numbers?

So what if Dr.  Nardacci smokes two joints a day and is the poster doctor for patient approvals.  Maybe he knows whereof he speaks and prescribes.

The only real trouble legal medical pot growers get into is when they are caught selling out the back door instead of the legal front door.  Hence, some growers get shut down.  The state has rules and regulations for medical marijuana and they should be allowed to do their job without undue hassle from special interests.

Let's face it, the Rx industry and the alcohol lobby do not want legalized or medical pot because it will severely cut into their markets.  Both of their products are way more abused and harmful than marijuana.

Let's be real.  The legalization of marijuana to all New Mexicans is just around the corner.  Economically it offers a lot to the state that will be irresistible.  Private business also.

So I would conclude that stressing over the number of New Mexicans who are approved for medical marijuana is way down the list of the priority of worry.  ...
