CONCLUSION:
Oral aloe vera taken for 4 weeks produced a clinical response more often than placebo; it also reduced the histological disease activity and appeared to be safe. Further evaluation of the therapeutic potential of aloe vera gel in inflammatory bowel disease is needed.

Cynara scolymus (Artichoke leaf extract) has shown a significant fall in symptoms after treatment and an improvement in quality of life in patients with IBS and dypepsia.156 Cynara scolymus has been reported to affect intestinal microbiota as it is a source of inulin. It has been found to be a substrate for selective growth of beneficial gut bacteria such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli.157 Cynara scolymus also has an antispasmodic activity which could also contribute to its positive effect.158

aloe vera may be effective for patients with diarrhoea-predominant ibs, according
to a recent randomised, placebo-controlled study (n= 58) (davis et all 2006). both
treatments were administered for 1 month with a follow up period of 3 months.
within the first month, 35% of the patients receiving aloe vera responded compared
to 22% with placebo. overall, diarrhoea-predominant ibs patients had a more
statistically significant responder rate than placebo (43% vs 22%).

ulcerative colitis
a double blind , randomised, placebo-controlled trial evaluated the efficacy and safety
of aloe vera gel (100 ml twice daily for 4 weeks) in ulcerative colitis (davis et all 2006).
aloe induced clinical remission in 30% of subjects compared to 7% for placebo and
symptom improvement in 37% compared to 7% for placebo. the simple clinical
colitis activity index and histological scores also decreased significantly for patinets
on the aloe treatment, but not for those receiving placebo.

Just fyi...if you do take this.. start slowly.. my best way to describe it is "earthshattering diarrhea" that makes you levitate off the toilet if your stomach reacts strongly to it. Slow.... sorry. Thought it was a funny way to explain a very real possibility with the introduction of this new product to your system. It is also used widely for constipation. ...makes sense....

IBD means you have a gastric disease.It is not a disease in itself,there are so many gastric diseases,and it is hard to get that correct diagnosis. There is also treatment with parasites. The pt injests the eggs. Hookworms. EW,but worth doing some research on.
