Please take a moment to sign this petition to show your support for the effort to add autism as a qualifying condition in MI. Once you've signed please share it on FB and Twitter (or anywhere)!  Help us make history and provide relief for thousands of MI families!

This petition is intended to recruit your signature alongside physicians and other interested persons in adding autism as an approved condition for treatment with medical cannabis in the State of Michigan.

Cannabis has therapeutic and palliative relief for the traditional symptoms and conditions associated with autism. More importantly parents and guardians should be protected in their choice to treat their loved ones with cannabis. In order for those who choose this option of treatment to have protections under Michigan Law it is imperative that autism be added to the list of conditions (e.g., epilepsy, spasms, chronic pain, etc) so that physicians may legally authorize the use of cannabis in treating autism.

We are fortunate to have the support of Dr. Harry Chugani, Chief of Pediatric Neurology at the Children's Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Chugani is heavily engaged in research and treats many children with autism who exhibit difficult behaviors. After more than 20 years of treating hundreds of patients afflicted with autism, Dr. Chugani supports the approval of cannabis to treat difficult externalizing behaviors seen in autism and protections for the patients, parents, guardians, and caregivers assisting those patients.

Linked below is a document that summarizes the most carefully selected cannabis research papers in favor of this modality.

We are seeking your support as we move forward through the legal and administrative process of attempting to provide protection under Michigan Law for the autistic patients and the loved ones who care for them.

Thank you
