While some will denigrate the Republicans for voting No and rightfully so when they think like Representative Huizenga (or Democratic Representative Levin for that matter), Upton's Yes vote is proof that some Republicans can learn while some Democrats won't.

 

I was at a town hall meeting with Levin years ago and almost everyone in the audience was against what was being discussed.

 

Levin on the other hand said, "Well, I can see your point but I'm going to vote for it anyway."

 

So much for representing the people.

Btw, it is a rather cheese amendment that is more powerful in concept than actuality.  The wording could have been better for sure.  Leaves open huge loopholes.

This seems to be the trend in any marijuana related legislation. Fortunately I believe most of the gray areas that law enforcement use against mmj patients and CG's also leave open a nice defense for us as well (with the right lawyer...).
