Watering

We got our automatic watering system in. The plants are in 25 gal tubs and are about four feet tall . What Im wondering is it better to water less frequently with larger amts or more frequently with smaller amts. Right now we are set on every third day for 15 minutes which gets the soil good and saturated - the instructions say the system delivers a gallon an hour - not sure that is correct. But so far so good

less frequent, deeper watering saturation. i'd say.

 

it encourages root growth. roots seek out water.

more roots = more nutes. more nutes = bigger healthier plants.

 

just dont let it dry out too much. depends on sun, air temps, soil temps, etc.

 

the more interesting question is should you bottom water or top water ?

 more frequently with smaller amounts,  This  makes the plant look for the water that is what expands its root formations ,  Too much water the plant will become lazy   with less roots formations  to find water,.  I water twice dally  plants are just about dry when i water,

Too many grow somewhat differences I always say if you want good Cannabis follow someone's else's adevice

 

If you want great Cannabis follow you'll own

 

I water my plants every 5-6 days but on the days it's hot out side like today I let them drink more water

always water your girls when they are thirsty... but do it from top - bottom - or both?

They say that if you water too frequently with small amounts your roots don't grow down for the moisture and you have shallow roots and a weaker plant. It's good to try to get a plants to send roots down searching for moisture. Also, when water goes into your drainage pan, and then gets sucked back up by the plant, it provides oxygen to the roots in the process.

Some just have to learn on there own i know some that water everyday and some that don't water at all Lol

do both top and bottom waterings. mix it up.

 

all in moderation!

 

also do your own expiriments. water one plant multiple times for short amount of time

then water the other plant deeply every few days.

then post results!
