Furthermore, the department anticipates that implementing an internet-based application process would save a significant, yet indeterminate, amount of staff time and resources. Although, the department estimates the one-time cost to develop and implement the internet-based application IT system at $2.9 million.

i'm not sure where they get such a big number for creating a new online registry system at. the health care professional registration system is already online, does background checks, is fairly complicated, asking for various pieces of information, including if the applicant was "ever convicted of a crime, like DUI".

The michigan medical marihuana program software is already based on what LARA already uses for other registrations and licenses as well.

"Department of Technology, Management and Budget’s License 2000 database."

"... Bureau's data systems, including but not limited to (License 2000 and Medical Marihuana License 2000)"

License 2000 - or “L2K” - is the predecessor to MyLicense Office). L2K currently is used by other agencies within the State of Michigan, and MyLicense Suite was selected by multiple agencies as the preferred COTS solution for licensing

Also might be migrating to Siebel License , again by oracle database software.

"This position will be responsible for the professional support of the new Siebel software for MMMP and its new online registration/application system"

Why? So they can send more jobs out of the state/country? Keep 'the staff' in Michigan. WTF is Snyder thinking?

Recipe of the Governor;

Take ANOTHER 3 Million away from Michigan and then make sure that all the administration money is spent somewhere else too. Yah, GOOD THINKING Snyder, you dumbarse. He's probably got family in the software business and new friends in China that want to do all our administration for a 'deal'.

Gov. Rick Snyder heads to China on Wednesday for a weeklong mission at a time when Chinese real estate investors have shown interest in buying property in Detroit and other U.S. cities.
