Dr Eden Wells And Flint's Poisoned Water

Perhaps I am just a bit too cynical, idk.

I still think our genocide gov'ner will indeed make a run for prez.

Not 2020 of course, but maybe 2024.

Sadly, people forget and even more do not even research the

candidates, instead rely on the media to provide their 'facts'.

He is more likely to make a run for Canada after the investigation.

Snyder running for president is no stranger than a complete buffoon like Trump running. Look at how well he's doing.

Remember, statisticly half of the people are of below average intelligence. It seems like most voters must be from this group judging by previous election results. Most voters and all Republican voters.

dont think it was mentioned here yet, but former flint em darnell earley just resigned from being the emergency manager of the detroit public schools. DPS has been in some kind of free fall debt expansion ever since the state took it over.

not to mention wasting money on rennovating schools only to close them a year later. not protecting those schools and letting scrappers gut them into condemned buildings. the current schools that are active were visited by detroit mayor duggan recently, finding them infested with rats, trash, mold and other glaring emergency health issues.

Snyder has not been asked to participate in the hearings yet either.  One person who was asked to testify was Darnell Early, he has refused  and a subpoena was refused by his attorney last night saying he needs more time...  Chair of the committee Elijah Cummings has issued an order to US Marshalls to 'hunt him down'.

So far Keith Creagh is the only one asked to testify. He was head of DNR until Dan Wyant stepped down as MDEQ head, last Dec. He is basically running interference now with his testimony, trying to blame EPA for their lack of enforcement...on them, and not reacting more strenuosly to the amount of lead they were putting in the drinking water. shhheeesh. No secret that they have no respect for the EPA. The Detroit News article

Unfortunatley at the end of the hearing Creagh was given a pass because he ' didn't need this in his life ' and given credit for showing up and bla, bla... even though he outright lied to them on at least one occasion that I know for a fact. This happens when being questioned by Rep Ms Bonnie Watson Coleman - NJ(one sharp cookie, imho)  ...taken from the transcripts (that's why the caps, that's the way it came):

Rep Ms BWC: 02:41:57 (Lenght: 0:20) MR. CREAGH, HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN STATE GOVERNMENT AT THE DIRECTOR LEVEL?   IN OTHER DEPARTMENTS?

Kieth Creagh: I WAS THE DIRECTOR OF THE  MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FROM JANUARY OF 2010  THROUGH JULY OF 2011 AND DIRECTOR OF THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FROM THAT TIME UNTIL JANUARY 4th (2016)."

Rep Ms BWC: 02:42:38 (Length: 0:18) DO YOU KNOW WHO OWNS THE KARRAGONDI WATER AUTHORITY?  AND DO YOU KNOW IF THERE'S ANY  RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ANY OF THE PRINCIPLES OF THAT AUTHORITY TO THE GOVERNOR, TO HIS CAMPAIGNS, OR TO THE PARTY THAT IS REPRESENTED BY THE GOVERNOR?  IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN?"

Kieth Creagh: " I have no such knowledge of that "   ...surely this is a lie, as he's been on the inside track of this thing for probably 20 yrs or more. Though admittedly this is speculation on my part.
I can say without a doubt that he lied straight(bare) faced to her on her first round of questions as can be seen graphically on pg 9 of this post or in text form in t-pains excellent link there.

for your convenience (from t-pains' link): "   It turns out that Keith Creagh was also at MDA at that time, working in the Pesticide and Plant Pest Management (PPPM) Division.  Mr. Creagh began his career at MDA in 1974, so had already been at MDA for 15 years when Bill Schuette arrived to direct the agency.  Mr. Creagh eventually became the Division Director for PPPM, and in 1995, under Director Gordon Guyer, became the Chief Deputy Director of MDA.  Mr. Creagh remained in that position until 2007, when he left state government to work for Neogen Corporation.  When Governor Snyder took office in 2011, Keith Creagh was brought back as Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture, which later that year was renamed the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD).  Finally, in July 2012 Governor Snyder moved Keith Creagh to the leadership position at the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the DNR, and brought Jamie Clover Adams in to lead MDARD. "

Overall I think the Oversight Committee were excellant in uncovering the overall scope of the problem, esp with what they had to work with. The most encouraging thing was that they were totally bi-partisan (imho) something I have not seen in many years. Perhaps it has something to do with the subject matter ...surely. Nevertheless... we will have to stay tuned 'till they can round up Darnell Early and ...

i'm not sure about creagh knowing karagondi info. theres plenty of other people to ask about that.

http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/flint-water-crisis/2016/02/03/live-congressional-panel-meet-flint-water-crisis/79743588/

As the testimony got under way Wednesday, Beauvais shook his head as Creagh again maintained that a reading of federal rules could allow the DEQ to test for about two years before requiring corrosion controls in Flint, even though the state has already acknowledged it should have required those treatments beforehand to make sure the water was safe.

creagh is heading the MDEQ department to check water quality in the whole state right now. this is not a flint problem, this creagh character is EVERYONES PROBLEM NOW. FIRE HIM NOW. call gov snyder and tell him to fire creagh immediately.

honestly i also thought it was a joke. like someone made up a tumblr account. but no, this tumblr is listed on the migop.org website (on the social media page).

i'm glad the leadership and gov snyder made a 'visit' to the flint. i'm sure just by being there, snyder and the republicans made the lead and legionaires go away.

PR disaster times 2! third ones the charm?

wheres the water drop that says "made snarky internet image while flint languishes" ?

Seems this is just part of their overall  PR attempts to impress people on how they are complying at least with EPAs mandates? What they don't acknowledge is the total 63,000,000 spent so far was because of their greed and incompetence. And it would barely cover the amount they have been charging Flint residents for toxic water which is another crime in itself. The  Gov has refused to attend a hearing next week, Feb 10, however this was with the Dem Steering & Policy Committee . Darnell Earley has hired one of DCs' top insider Lawyers a specialist in white collar crime, for his debut on: Feb 25th with the House Oversight Committee...

Looking into their claims so far I haven't been able to find any source  to get the water testing kits. However I did find a link to the:

Flint Water Resource Center | PUR  from there you will find the link to the mich.gov Flint site as well as the locations in Flint where you can get your water and filters.

Here's some videos of the POS filter that they are giving away. Dont know how many of them a household is entitled to. Probably lucky to get one. It is pretty much worthless and questionable if it is even effective. Regardless the filter needs to be changed at 100 gals.

Short version:

McGyver & McMasters' version:

Shown here with cheapo TDS gadget shows it adds 10 - 20 ppm to your water!

Thinking these youTube graphics are slowing  page loads I stuck them in  links instead.

An interesting new development is in the works now as Detroits' DWSD is making overtures to Flint to remain on their water which  they are currently on, in spite of the EM Darnell Earley selling a chunk of their pipeline most likely to KWA back in April 2014 and precipitating his move to connect to the River.

This puts a wrench in the plans of the KWA and may serve to show their motive in disconnecting  and subsequently poisoning the Flint citizens with the toxic River water. It seems that Flint may have been their anchor baby to justify the whole project in the first place. Absconding with the DWSD northern pipeline was a key piece of their plan to take DWSD customers who had made no commitments to the KWA at that time.

In fact after listening to their City Council meetings the City was under EM but were allowed to take a vote on the proposed KWA contract only in regard to the amount of water they would be willing to buy.  There was much coercion involved to have them hurry into making a decision they obviously were not prepared to make, even questioning why they were even being consulted on this decision when they were not allowed to make other decisions due to the EM being in place.

After going through most of the available evidence, the switch to the Flint River appears to be a gimmick for making the KWA more appealing than it really was. The same people that contributed to the drain commissioners were hired “for assistance in placing the Flint Water Plant into operation using the Flint River as a primary drinking water source for approximately two year” (aka Lockwood, Andrews, and Newnam - LAN)

Investigation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwVO3mn5QR4&feature=youtu.be

Emergency Manager Submission: http://mediad.publicbroadcasting.net/p/michigan/files/201512/water_plan_resolution.pdf?_ga=1.2902898.392165409.1450095903

Back in 2011, the Flint river was considered for a primary source and rejected because the Flint treatment facility would have required $50 million in upgrades to use it (+$10 million more for other upgrades).

http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2011/09/water_treatment.html

So the options were A) Pay $60+ million in upgrades to use the Flint River for 2 years, which would have made Detroit a considerably better option. B) Pay Detroit’s jacked up rates for 2 years because the emergency manager did not want to work out a 30 year contract with them (also making the KWA less attractive financially) or C) Pump highly corrosive, untreated river water through the system for free.

The Flint River is actually not usable as a primary source, but LAN apparently didn’t think chemical testing was necessary. Even experiments that added phosphates to water samples only decreased the corrosivity from 19x of Detroit’s water to 16x. Another central problem was how dirty the water is (feces, bacteria, ect.), requiring even more corrosive chemicals to be added. No matter what you do with this water (besides $50 million in upgrades), it is poison…

Snyder's attorney is making his case for the defense. Schuette has been screaming all through this, although from a distance, that they only have to follow State Law, and no consequences, no matter how grave, matter at all.

The real questions here are:

When does negligent homicide and damaging the gene pool become more important than the default setting of following the minimum safety measures for The People of Michigan?

Is it the Governor's job number one to find the least expensive thing to do so that he can protect the tax dollars for other things?

Or is it that he should never make a decision that would kill and damage generations of Michiganders?

I think the answer is clear and it really doesn't involve State Law at all.

You have to wonder what the conflict of interest was for Schuette between representing the MDEQ employees and Governor’s office in these cases. I’m guessing it relates to what Howard Croft admitted about the origin of the decision not to use Detroit’s water in the interim, as it “went all the way to the Governor’s office”.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=qEWBGE31qCY

In fact, I’m seeing a lot of the same slimy tactics that have been going on in Detroit also going on in the KWA deal and Flint water crisis. For example, we were told that there were open bids to find the best contracts; but there were no bids, just behind the scenes dealings that involved conflicts of interest. Heck, the drain commissioner for Genesee county, who was getting donations from the firms picked without a proper bid, was previously forced to be an FBI informant… You usually don’t become one for good behavior.

It was never about saving money, it was about transferring money from the poor to the rich. It just happened to backfire, potentially poisoning hundreds of thousands in the process and without a doubt delivering the final blow to Flint's aged water system. They were already losing 30% of their water to leaks before the incident, but now they are having major issues with water main breaks after the 18 months of corrosion. $1.5 billion seems about right

Hitting on this point some more, here was the shape of Flint’s water system back in 2012 before the switch: 30%+ of their water use was unmetered in comparison to Genesee County at 4% (main breaks, ect.).

http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2012/05/flint_officials_water_leakage.html

Now let’s move to the year after switching to the Flint River (2015), where the amount of “usage” increased from 13 million to 19 million gallons of water. Although using 2014 as a baseline underestimates the problem, the metered usage of water is about 9.1 million gallons per day. This indicates that Flint is losing over 50% of their water to outdated/destroyed infrastructure!

http://www.mlive.com/news/flint/index.ssf/2015/04/flint_dpw_director_says_water.html

Ask yourselves this; if your city is losing 30%-60% of its water to leaking water mains, how is building a new pipeline going to fix the overall cost? You are automatically going to be paying 2x the amount of what tax payers are actually using, which will remain true under a new pipeline. Furthermore, due to the increased damage to the water mains, the new KWA contract will not even be able to provide Flint with enough water. They were using 19 million gallons per day in early 2015 (it is probably higher now), while KWA contract only provides 16 million gallons per day… woops.

Sinkholes are next to come.

Parents of Flint toddler sue over lead in water

Michigan officials accused of callous indifference in first related case based on a specific individual injury
February 8, 2016 6:19PM ET

The parents of a 2-year-old Flint, Michigan, girl sued the city and state on Monday over high levels of lead in the child's blood, accusing officials of callous and deliberate indifference over contaminated water.

The lawsuit by Flint residents Luke Waid and Michelle Rodriguez said government officials and workers had violated their constitutional rights to due process in the course of switching the source of the city's water to the Flint River from Lake Huron in April 2014.

They named as defendants Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, the former director of the state environmental quality department and other workers, former Flint emergency managers Darnell Earley and Gerald Ambrose, former Flint Mayor Dayne Walling and other city officials.

The case, brought in federal court in Detroit, is the first based on a specific individual injury. Several other lawsuits have been filed claiming more general harm from contaminated tap water in Flint.

Flint, with about 100,000 residents, was under the control of a state-appointed emergency manager when it switched the source of its water. The city switched back last October after tests found high levels of lead in children's blood samples.

Lead can be toxic. Children are especially vulnerable to the effects of lead poisoning, which can cause developmental problems.

At a press conference after the lawsuit was filed, Waid said that a Women, Infants and Children program official told him that his daughter had elevated lead levels in about August 2014 and the family spent thousands of dollars on home repairs believing it was due to lead paint.

"They could have told us months in advance and we could have had home filtration systems set up so that it could have never gotten this far," he said.

The lawsuit claimed that officials' failure to promptly tell residents of tap water test results or apply corrosion controls to protect city pipes violated the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act.

"The drinking water provided by defendant City of Flint was, at all relevant times, an unreasonably dangerous and defective product when used for its advertised and intended purpose," the lawsuit said.

The family, including daughter Sophia, used the water to drink, bathe, cook and clean after state and local officials said it was safe. The lawsuit said the child suffered from high levels of lead in her blood, skin rashes, digestive issues, infections and other problems.

The lawsuit is seeking awards for medical monitoring, property repairs, compensatory and punitive damages.
