Dr Eden Wells And Flint's Poisoned Water

Recommended Posts

i'm not saying flint mayor is responsible for the switch or the lack of corrosion controls.

but he knew about it in june/july and he did nothing to warn the public.

he said he drank it in jan/feb.

i see the city issued its lead alert in october.

what happened between june and october? anyone have a good timeline?

They switched the water in Apr 2014. MI top medical officer identified a spike in kids' lead levels in July, Aug and Sept 2014 and sent an email in July 2015 to "higher ups at the state health department"

The thing starts with the appointment of Kevin Orr as EM in the D and the Detroit bankruptcy, (imho) which led to the shutting off some Detroit residents water and setting the stage for the cascading events that lead to the Flint tragedy. The actions in Detroit brought condemnation from the UN in Oct. 2014 and demands for their water to be restored.

...I'll try to start work on a real timeline later...kinda busy today...

http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/2016/01/15/ag-schuette-flint-water-crisis/78836248/

Schuette has started an investigation to "determine what, if any, Michigan laws were violated in the process that resulted in the contamination crisis," .

I'm certain it will be a fair an unbiased investigation that will find Snyder and all the Republicans completely innocent.

FLINT, MI -- State Democrats say there's one big problem with Attorney General Bill Shutte's plan to investigate the Flint water crisis:

He shouldn't be doing it.

The Michigan Democratic Party said in a statement today, Jan. 15, that Schuette should appoint an independent investigator to probe Flint's water problem "based on his blatant conflict of interest and history of blocking the people of Flint from accessing critical information on the crisis."

The Flint Journal-MLive could not immediately reach a representative of Schuette's office for comment today.

Schuette early today announced an investigation of the Flint water crisis, saying it would aim at determining what, if any, Michigan laws were violated in the process that resulted in lead in water contamination.

State Democrats released a statement from Brandon Dillon, Michigan Democratics Party chairman, that said Schuette "has disqualified himself from conducting a fair and honest investigation of the Snyder administration's role in the Flint water crisis, plain and simple."

"His history of stonewalling the release of critical information to the people of Flint shows that he is more interested in protecting his Republican cronies than getting to the bottom of what Snyder knew and when," the statement says.

"What's more, Schuette is the one responsible for defending Snyder against lawsuits from the people of Flint, raising a serious conflict of interest."

Go Get'em Brandon Dillon, And I am looking forward to meeting you in Mecosta County.

Thank You

"Each agency continued to do it's own internal activities, and they did not share (the information) in the open public," former Flint Mayor Dayne Walling said Friday, Jan. 15.

"There needs to be mandatory disclosures so the public is aware of what all those different agencies are doing," said Walling, who confirmed he was told of the issue in March 2015.

i still dont blame walling for the water switch or failing to do corrosive controls, wasnt his fault. but he knew about this legionaires stuff too and didnt tell the public. how many deaths could have been prevented if he (or someone else who knew) said something?

Smokey and stinky guns: Hate to say it but  there is a really bad stench arising  at the Karegondi Water Authority as well as Lansing and the rest of Genesee County Administration.

" Flint emergency manager Darnell Earley finalized the sale of an Eastern Genesee County 9-mile section of water pipeline to Genesee County for $3.9 million. This pipeline feeds Detroit water to the county and after the Huron pipeline is active would service the Eastern part of the county. "   ....Nevertheless finalizing the sale in June as reported here  did not stop him from disconnecting Flint as water still flowed presumably to the rest of Genesee Co as well all the other customers including Oakland Co and others whom DWAS were servicing.  Seems that this pipe although located in Genesee Co would have belonged to the Detroit Water & Sewer  Dept.

" The Karegondi Board met on November 25, 2015 to elect new leadership. Newly elected Flint Mayor Karen Weaver, Flint City Councilman Eric Mays and Laura Sullivan were all new board members at that meeting. With Flint Mayor Walling losing his election, Mayor Weaver nominated herself as chair due to Walling previously holding the position. Instead, current vice chair & Sanilac Drain Commissioner Alexander was selected chair with Genesee County Commission chair Curtis was selected as vice chair."
