Zymes Or Sterile?

I run ebb and flow on a titan flo and grow system using hydroton.  I strictly follow the nutrient regime of GH 3 part flora, gro micro with Ca-Mg and Pro-tekt.  These are my only additives.   Ususally near the end of the cycle the roots are not as white and beautiful as when I start.  Is hygrozyme or dutchmasters Zone what people on here use?  Which route do you choose and why?  I have used a bit of Pond enzyme cleaner for ponds but I don't really notice a difference.  I didn't notice much difference with hygrozyme either.  Zone works but it's chloramine.  I'm not against using chloramine.

in my ebb/flow I used DM Zone with great satisfaction, along with the DM Gold line.
