Someone was listening. I hated the old 'intent'. Now it says the intent is to protect users from arrest and penalties. Right there in the beginning. What a fantastic improvement! Now when it goes to the Supreme Court we have a chance. So don't fudge that part up. Leave it. Thanks for taking suggestions seriously.

what did you say last time, mal? point out problems and suggest wording to fix it?

There was an email link to give suggestions for improved wording. It worked. They did exactly what I asked them to do. Maybe a lot of other folks felt like I did and submitted suggestions similar to mine. The important part is it worked. I feel much more confident that some sort of a positive outcome is possible with the 'intent' spelled out more clearly in the forefront, that the people of Michigan want the arrests and penalties for marijuana to be a thing of the past. That's what we will be voting on, a protection from arrests and penalties for Michigan cannabis users. No judge can ignore that the way it is stated now.

Looks like no farm markets or 'fruit stands'. It says that nothing marijuana sales related can be seen in public or from a public place with the unaided eye. Seems like a trap that law enforcement would use. Things like this, wording like this is really a slap in the face. The public needs to get used to seeing it. It's not like a raunchy book store so quit treating it like that. There's nothing lewd or ugly about marijuana, and selling it doesn't change that. They are trying to 'slip it to us again'. Thinking we don't read? It's one of those things that every marijuana establishment will be guilty of at some point. It's a leverage point for bad law enforcement. They will selectively prosecute that to use their power in bad ways.

Do liquor sales get hidden from the public eye?

I like. Some of the language can be cleaned up and details vetted, but an excellent read nonetheless.

I have always wanted to be able to grow it between my corn and potatoes, though I understand the need to keep it from intrusion by unauthorized persons.

I like the part about microbusiness. Not much info on it besides being allowed 150 plants but it sounds cool.

Don't like this

"a municipality may prohibit completely or limit the number of marihuana establishments within its boundaries."

"If a municipality limits the number of marihuana establishments that may be licensed in the municipality pursuant to section 7 of this act and that limit prevents the department from issuing a license to all applicants who meet the requirements of subsection 3 of this section, the municipality shall decide among competing applications by a competitive process intended to select applicants who are best suited to operate in compliance with this act within the municipality"

Is that really true? Or are they just setting themselves up for bribes and monopolies? Do these cities have alcohol stores? And bars where people drive there, get impaired, then drive home? Where's their moral compass on that? Too selective to be a real moral stance.

Sec. 6. 1. Unless the court determines that granting the petition would pose an unreasonable risk to public safety, upon application to the court that entered a conviction, whether by trial or by plea, the court shall:

(a) set aside the conviction of a person who would not have been guilty of the violation had this act been in effect at the time of violation;

They are 'slipping it to us again'. This is not good for anyone wanting to do an alcohol extraction;

Sec. 4. 1. This act does not authorize:

(d) separation of plant resin by butane extraction or another method that utilizes a substance with a flashpoint below 100 degrees Fahrenheit in any public place, motor vehicle, or within the curtilage of any residential structure;

not too many people are going to stand up for butane blasters.

them houses keep exploding too.

You think it's fair that patients who extract using alcohol should be punished for people who were unsafe with butane?

They could just say 'butane'. Now would be the time to correct that.
