Troopers discover 35 pounds of marijuana wax in 1970 RV

TRAVERSE CITY — The smell of marijuana wafting from an RV led Michigan State Police troopers to arrest a woman suspected of manufacturing a "medicinal lotion."

Troopers from the Gaylord Post at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday stopped a 1970 RV for failing to signal a right turn in Grand Traverse County, according to information released by the Michigan State Police.

 

A trooper made contact with the vehicle, which had seven occupants, and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside, the release states.

Troopers recovered more than 35 pounds of marijuana wax manufactured as a medicinal lotion and packaged in 24-ounce mason jars along with dry, processed marijuana.

 

A 38-year-old Free Soil woman was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance, marijuana.

Failing to signal a right hand turn. How lame of an excuse is that? People don't normally get pulled over for that. Why can't they ever tell the truth? State Police BS Artists!

There is point in time when we must ask some questions of ourselves ... are we here to demand justice for our community or to shield all those that fail to follow the MMMA ( as in the act itself).

 

 (c) For purposes of determining usable marihuana equivalency, the following shall be considered equivalent to 1 ounce of usable marijuana

(1) 16 ounces of marihuana-infused product if in a solid form. 

Wax being a solid form.

To get to the legal limit for a patient of 2.5 ounces is, in a bizarre way, 16 ounces wax = 1 ounce useable, so 32 ounces of wax = 2 ounces usable, 40 ounces = 2.5 useable

 

40 ounces dry wax = 2.8 lbs weight

If a CG is supplying 5 patients, then 2.8 lbs of wax x 5 = 14 pounds of wax

(1) For each qualifying patient to whom he or she is connected through the department's registration process, a combined total of 2.5 ounces of usable marihuana and usable marihuana equivalents.

If my math is even close ... a legal limit of 14 pounds of wax for 5 patients per CG law, then 35 lbs isn't even within a long stretch of the legal law. 

People that don't adhere to the MMMA law hurt us all, they bring discredit upon all the MMMA abiding patients and caregivers that strive to help their fellow man

Too many articles that appear here are, upon careful reading, trying to defend people that are not following the MMMA law as it is currently written

If you don't follow the MMMA law then you are operating outside it's protection

If you don't follow the MMMA law and try to, once caught by LEO, to call upon it for protection ... You reap what you sow

The MMMA law is in place, it protects those that carefully follow it's guidance ... shouldn't we concentrate our efforts to help those that are doing their best to follow the rules and, honestly, let those that obviously go beyond it's protections ... face the law

I may be flawed, I may be off in my math, but my only intention is to say ... shouldn't those that are striving to be good stewards within the current MMMA law be the ones we champion and help ... while those that choose to run afoul of it's protection face the legal ramifications of their choice?

Don't believe everything you read. The police tend to stretch the truth.

When an article starts off with someone getting pulled over for not signaling a right turn then you have to be very suspect of the officers testimony to the press.

In other words, they lie their arses off in these press releases almost always.

The truth could be that the lotion was in the middle of the manufacturing process where the volume would be huge. Just like when you make marijuana butter, you simmer the marijuana trim in a large pot of water. If the BS artist cops caught you at that step you would have a shiet load of infused liquid when you really have a lot of unusable marijuana that doesn't count for anything.

Talk about being terrible stewards of the truth. 

In a situation like this the truth matters. It's all we have to decide who is right and who is wrong.

The Michigan State Police have a lobbyist arm and a BS propaganda arm that seem to be much more active than their 'protect and serve' arm when it comes to marijuana.

OTSEGO COUNTY, Mi (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Gaylord woman was arrested on Monday after the Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement team raided a medical marijuana dispensary.

The Gaylord Police Department received a tip from someone who noticed the dispensary had moved dozen of marijuana plants outside, which is illegal.

S.A.N.E. was able to get a search warrant on Monday, the same day the tip came in.

Three people were there at the time, but only a 27-year-old woman was arrested.

Police say she worked and also lived in the building.

Dispensaries are supposed to keep all of their products locked inside and each caregiver is only supposed to have five patients.

Other dispensaries in the area say when people break the rules, it makes them all look bad.

“It’s unfortunate people have to break the law and then give other dispensaries a bad name when we’re out here just trying to help patients," said Jonathan Tomaski, manager of the Cloud 45 dispensary.

"I like to think that a lot of the people that are involved as caregivers or patients are following the rules, so it gives every person who's following the rules a bad name," said Lt. Kenneth Mills of S.A.N.E. "I'd like to think that the majority of folks who have cards are following the rules that are currently in place, but you're always going to have a few that are trying to go outside what they should be doing."

In addition to the 26 plants, S.A.N.E. seized about two and a half pounds of processed marijuana, as well as edibles and wax.

They say the woman was also in possession of Tramadol, which is a type of pain killer.

Police say that amount of marijuana far exceeds the amount a caregiver should have if they are only serving five patients.

They will be investigating further to see if the woman was selling to non-patients,

Holy batschit batman, we have dueling BS artists, a dispensary owner pretending to be only caregivers servicing their 5 patients and the cops saying you can't grow outdoors. See the total unreality we have to endure daily?
