"Tobacco use remains the leading cause of preventable disease and death in the United States, causing more than 480,000 deaths every single year," the FDA said in announcing the plan. The agency added that the toll also has a monetary cost, with "direct health care and lost productivity costs totaling nearly $300 billion a year."

And medical marijuana is currently a Schedule One drug  ... 480,000 deaths ... in America ... each year to tobacco

"The overwhelming amount of death and disease attributable to tobacco is caused by addiction to cigarettes — the only legal consumer product that, when used as intended, will kill half of all long-term users," FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said Friday.

We struggle to keep people alive through medical marijuana ... tobacco is currently marketed to addict and eventually kill ...

It's not all about greed, political corruption, Super Pac's, and Big Tobacco ... it also about the public's ability to "see" and still choose to ignore ... everyone knows someone that has died from smoking tobacco yet there is no public outrage ... but hold a town meeting to discuss allowing medical marijuana to help save lives in the community and the moral indignation pours like venom

Yes, we do live in a "wicked" world ...

Ignorance and gullibility are two huge problems that have plagued the world for forever and people who are willing to exploit other people's ignorance and gullibility are the roots of all evil.

Very well said ...
