Sessions next approach

Planet Green Trees touched on this prospect during their latest podcast ... that Sessions will now try to link marijuana to increased violent crimes

This is from Colorado Springs ...

May called marijuana "the gateway drug to homicide in our community and across our state," citing information released earlier this year by the Colorado Springs Police Department, which claimed "a marijuana nexus" in at least 11 of the 59 homicides reported over the past three years: two of 29 homicides in 2015, eight of 22 homicides in 2016 and at least one so far in 2017.

"That's not somebody just using marijuana, that's somebody being murdered over a legal marijuana grow in their house, murdered over an illegal marijuana grow in their house," May said.

Jason Warf, executive director of the Southern Colorado Cannabis Council, called May's comment "nonsense."

Warf said he worries that state and local officials might be trying to turn public opinion against legalized marijuana by tying violent crime to the drug without evidence.

City Council President Richard Skorman also questioned May's statement, saying none of the officials who have presented on marijuana during council meetings has mentioned a connection to homicides.

Here the dirty link to the DoJ ...

‘Secret’ meetings with the feds

On Wednesday, July 19, local news station 11 News (KKTV) sniffed out that an undisclosed meeting took place between Colorado Springs city leaders and federal agents about marijuana regulations.

The meeting addressed views of local officials and law enforcement toward the state’s marijuana regulatory program, Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers told KKTV 11 and The Gazette.

Some discussions centered on what Suthers classified as a “huge” black market and “sensitive case investigations,” The Gazette reported. The representatives from the Justice Department and other federal agencies also heard from medical and education officials, who previously expressed concern about cannabis legalization, according to The Gazette.

KKTV 11 News later obtained slides from the PowerPoint presentation made in the meeting. It was titled, “D.C. Presentation,” and some slides were named “The Legalization of Marijuana and the Unintended Consequences,” and “The New Meth House.” The slides included pictures of grow facilities, listed hazards cited by first responders and outlined negative community effects, according to 11 News.

Public information officials representing Colorado Springs government could not be immediately reached for comment Thursday by The Cannabist.

A day earlier in Denver, five federal officials met with 20 representatives from a variety of Colorado agencies that handle some aspect of marijuana regulations, The Cannabist reported.

Currently the medical marijuana movement has a 90% national public approval / support ... where will the DoJ turn after they ruin legalized marijuana?

Yeah. Trump said during one of his stump speeches that some crazy things were going on in the legal states. They have their play book ..... talking points. It was all telegraphed earlier if you listened closely.  I posted a youtube video here of Trump saying that. Then the stooges kept posting here that Trump will let the legal states do what they want. How ignorant and bull headed was that? Infuriating! Trump's giving a long speech today how police need more power.... "so much more power".

  • 5 months later...

The problem is no one is stepping up to call these ding dings out.

Was watching the Megan Kelly show the other day (ooo, mmj is so funny!😬) and the dude was talking that there are now more drugged-driving cases since cannabis has become legal.

You mother-truckin' dipturd!! Wtf!

There are now more drugged diving cases in legal states NOT because there are more drugged driver's, but because they are testing more!  Wtf!?

Seriously?!?  Going to broadcast that misleading statistic?  Had little faith in journalistic integrity to begin with, but this was such a simple point to discredit and they have no one there to give the other side a voice
