I'm talking about clueless as far as the whole canna world goes. My twp thought that the drying would take place at the processor facility and thus wanted to zone it like it would have heavy stink. After discussion we got them on the right page so it opened up where a processing facility could do business.

They didn't know about carbon scrubbers either...clueless.

No I do not want anyone going out of their way to do research.  Do public Internet forums threaten you?  The information gathered is for all to see... not just me dude.  This post is just another tool used to do research.....not asking for anything but what people already are aware of.  Unfortunately I could never be in every town in MI 24/7, so it is important to use the internet to gather information from like minded people to be shared to all... This forum does not need negative comments or accusations....If you cannot provide any valuable info maybe you should read another topic.

I have seen a couple ordinances that have been approved and not happy with the wording. They seem to include patients and caregivers into the ordinance.

In my opinion, this should only be MMFLA.

I live in Highland Township and they sent out a survey with the summer tax bill . 8,000 were sent out and less than 400 responded. 70% strongly oppose...need I say more.

This may be an dumb question... but is all land in Michigan within some type of city or township?

Stated differently, is there rural private land in Michigan only under the jurisdiction of the county?

I have contacted over 20 townships in West Michigan and N. Michigan and when I ask about this topic they all have either created an ordinance disallowing it or they have a prepared statement and almost identical to each other. THEY SAY, WE ARE GOIN TO SIT BACK AND SEE HOW THE REST OF THE STATE DOES WiTH THIS LAW BEFORE DOING ANYTHING. 

In other words "No way".

In reality these townships are colluding to block this program completely and still, more than ever use the same excuse that it is illegal federally. 

This program will be a complete failure except for a few selected places where the corporates takeeover.

I've heard of at least one township that is on board with setting up a huge grow. They are working with local business investors to get an old factory site ready for when they get the green light. Not afraid of the big bad fed it seems.

On October, 23, 2017, the Morenci City Council approved Ordinance 17-333. The Notice of Adoption Summary is below:

Pursuant to Section 29 of the Morenci City Charter, the Morenci City Council has authorized the City Administrator / Clerk to publish a digest of Ordinance 17-333 that was enacted into law by the Morenci City Council on October 23, 2017 with an effective date of—November 4, 2017—which is ten (10) days after the date of publication of this summary on October 25, 2017.

 Ordinance 17-333 does the following:

Amends Chapter 22 of the Morenci Code of Ordinances (zoning ordinance) to provide for land use provisions for medical marihuana facilities pursuant to the Michigan Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (Public Act 281 of 2016).

Allows for medical marihuana growing, processing, safety compliance centers, and secure transporters within the I-2 zoning district.

Allows for medical marihuana provisioning centers in the C-3 zoning district.

Sets forth rules and regulations for buffer zones, signage, minimum lot sizes, minimum yard depth / distances, facility construction, and physical appearance.

Copies of Ordinance 17-333 may be obtained from the City of Morenci Offices located at 118 Orchard Street, Morenci, MI 49256 or online at www.CityofMorenci.org.

if you are curious about the ordinances in an area you are looking at
put this in google

and it brings up garden city ordinances on the subject.

could automate this by getting a list of cities in the state and just searching each city and township and collecting the results. what fun!

It's on the news almost every day. One municipality after another is shaking the bushes for bribes from people who think that they will get their foot in the door on this mega grow adventure. The State has the final say so there is no guarantee these municipalities are helping anyone after they take their bribe for an application. 

Applicants need to keep in mind that paying for the application means nothing at all. Getting the application from the locality is the easiest part of the process.

No there is no deadline. Many were waiting for the temporary rules and regs to be released while some want to give it a year and see how it works out for the early adopters.

ADRIAN — The city of Adrian is moving forward to allow and regulate medical marijuana facilities within the community.

At a special meeting Wednesday, the Adrian City Commission by a 5-1 vote approved a regulatory ordinance’s language that would permit commercial medical marijuana facilities, including growers, processors, provisioning centers, safety compliance facilities and secure transporters.

There is still a window until June to edit or adjust the ordinance, if needed. Changes coming down from state regulators could cause this to happen.

Wednesday’s vote followed a year of debate, research and discussion on the topic at city commission meetings.
