Alzhimer's And Infection ?

We know that infections are an issue as re developing AZ. Individuals with periodontic disease are more likely to develop AZ. We know that MJ may have antibiotic effects-as per MRSA.

So when I saw this paragraph in the referenced paper, I though this MAY be a way in which MMJ may forestall dementia. Any thoughts ?

The problem in Alzheimer’s is thought to be an overproduction of beta amyloid — the protein is made in healthy brains but, it is thought, in smaller quantities. Its normal role is not certain, but researchers recently found that beta amyloid can kill microbes, indicating that it might help fight infections. ............"

Intersting article, especially with respect to mentioning gleevec. I bet there will be a way soon of allowing it to linger in the brain longer, similar to how they developed medications for parkinson's disease.
