A seminar hosted for human resource managers examined employers rights for enforcing drug policies under the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act. For now, employers can prohibit workers from using marijuana while working on company property, but whether they can fire a registered patient for testing positive has yet to be determined by the courts. A pending case involving a registered user from Battle Creek fired by Wal-Mart for failing a drug test will be the first case to address these issues. [bCE]
