The powers that be in Huron County want to pass ordinances County wide to prohibit the use or growing of Medical Marijuana. How can this be if I have a State issued card that allows me to medicate myself without prosecution or danger of being arrested.

Huron County Planning Commission - Notice of Public Hearing - Zoning Ordinance (text) Amendment

 

Notice is given that the Huron County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be possible, during its regular monthly meeting the same date, in the Board Room (Rm. 305) of the County Building, 250 E. Huron Avenue, Bad Axe, Michigan to hear comments on proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance of Huron County, as summarized below:

 

ZA 2010 - 08 (text amendment): amend the wording of the zoning ordinance which identifies statutory references to state zoning enabling legislation by correcting such references to “Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, PA 110 of 2006, as amended” or similar wording. In addition, this amendment would add language that limits uses of land (within all zoning districts) to those (uses) allowed under local, State and Federal law. A full copy of the proposed amendment is available for public inspection at the Huron County Building & Zoning Department, Rm. 102, of the County Building, or on the County’s website at: co.huron.mi.us /departments, building & zoning, draft ordinances.

 

Persons wishing to comment on the above amendment proposal(s) are invited to attend the meeting or otherwise provide comment (by mail, fax or email) prior to the public hearing. Written comments will be accepted prior to the meeting by mailing same to the Huron County Planning Commission, County Building, Rm. 102, 250 E. Huron Avenue, Bad Axe, Michigan 48413, or by fax to 989-269-3362, by email to lundberr@co.huron.mi.us. Following the public hearing, consideration of a recommendation on this amendment is scheduled.
