D.u.i.d. Propaganda Push Begins At The Federal Level

Recommended Posts

Ok, everyone. This is a big deal.

Two days ago, The National Highway Traffic Highway Safety Administration published a study stating that drugged driving fatalities have increased substantially between 2005 and 2009.

The study included all drugs including prescription and over the counter medication. The study did not take into account whether the drugs identified were dangerous to drive on or if there were levels significant enough to cause impairment, it just simply tested for the presence of a drug.

Despite the fact that the data is inconclusive and does not prove anything, which the head of the administration admits, the information is being pushed toward law enforcement. In particular, it is being distributed law enforcement toward Medical Marijuana states.

The head of the NHTSA admits in the article that the study does not prove anything, yet “the agency has prepared nearly 1,000 instructors and trained more than 6,000 police officers in 46 states to recognize symptoms of driver impairment by drugs other than alcohol” already.

You can find a copy of the propaganda from the NHSTA with a link to the report here- http://www.nhtsa.gov/About+NHTSA/Press+Releases/2010/NHTSA+Reports+Drug+Use+Among+Fatally+Injured+Drivers+Increased+Over+the+Last+Five+Years

You can find a more thorough and critical view of the report from Men’s News Daily here- http://cannabis.mensnewsdaily.com/2010/12/01/gov%E2%80%99t-hypes-drugged-driving-threat-calls-for-zero-tolerance-duid-laws-nationwide/

Some ideas on how to combat this-

*Talk to your friends who are in law enforcement. Let them know that this study is garbage, and that Marijuana is not as debilitating as alcohol or many prescription drugs. Let them know that this push they are being asked to take part in is wrong, and that it is a waste of resources. Help them understand it is propaganda set out at the national level to combat medical marijuana, and thus is attempt to pit state police against their constituents. Let them know that this war can’t be fought if they don’t take part.

*Dispensaries, caregivers, and patients to should begin transferring and transporting marijuana in mason jars and the like with tamper proof seals. The easiest way is to purchase a roll of plastic tape that shrinks to mold the container when heated.

*Start keeping your marijuana and any paraphernalia in the trunk of your car.

*Use Visine, even if you have not medicated recently.

Propaganda of this kind only comes before a war is waged. Prepare yourselves for the battle.
