At a press conference the next day, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said the state Legislature has to take notice of medical marijuana problems, or it will get further out of hand. Several protests by patients and caregivers were held around the county following the raids. The people arrested are still fighting charges in court. Municipal officials struggled to decide whether to establish moratoriums on medical marijuana. State Court of Appeals Judge Peter O’Connell urged Legislators to clarify the confusing law, passed by voters in 2008. This back and forth game will go only come to an end when the 'people' realize they cannot wait for the politicians to do it for them.
