I used google a whole 4 seconds to find this. It is the 2009 State of Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission. There's political bullshite in there, but as you scroll past the warm and fuzzies, page 8, scrolling down you will see information about judicial misconduct:

http://jtc.courts.mi.gov/downloads/2009%20annual%20report.pdf'>http://jtc.courts.mi.gov/downloads/2009%20annual%20report.pdf

Here is the official web site for the State of Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission:

http://jtc.courts.mi.gov/

This link from the judicial tenure commission web site tells you what they have the authority to do:

This link from the judicial tenure commission web site tells you how to file a grievance with them. Keep in mind, it doesn't have to deal with MM issues, but ANY type of wrong you may wish to file a grievance about:

On the same website is the Code of Judicial Conduct:

http://jtc.courts.mi.gov/codeofconduct.htm

This is some kind of direction, explanation type info on filing grievances on judges from a book called the Michigan Rules of the Court:

This is a link to the Michigan Constitution that you can download as a PDF file for later leisure reading:

This PDF downloadable link tells you how state and local governments operate. This can help you better understand how to go about things if you start learning to speak their language a little bit.

Here's another downlable PDF info that may be boring to most...it sort of was to me but some people like to educate their self. I didn't know that the drinking age in Michigan, in 1972 was 18 until I saw it by chance:

Here is a guide to legal and medical decisions through Michigan legislature website:

This link is called the Legislative Process in Michigan. This also can be downloaded easily in PDF format.

Here is a good one called A Citizen's Guide to State Government recently published. I like the first page that says:

"Dear Citizen:

It is of primary importance that the general

public increase its participation

in the decision making

process. In order to actuate this input,

the citizen must acquire an understanding of

the legislative structure and process and then

organize concerted efforts to effectively demand

representation.

Individuals can have an impact on specific

legislative proposals, provided it is made at the

appropriate time. Organized community and

citizens’ groups can multiply the impact of that

individual effort.

Organizing citizens’ groups to deal with

specific

community problems

is extremely

important. Such groups provide a focal point

from which citizens can participate in the

decision-

making process and influence

legislation.

The intent of this CITIZEN’S GUIDE is to

provide

some of the specific information needed

to get in touch with the RIGHT PEOPLE AT THE

RIGHT TIME to make your concerns heard. It is

hoped that it will be a reference tool that will

assist you in your efforts to be heard by public

officials."

They have to put all of this info out there for the public but they know few people read it, that it's a bunch of boring ka-ka and are banking on people being too lazy, too stupid, and too disinterested to make it everyone's business. It scares the living crap out of political figures when everyday citizen's want to be more knowledgeable in the business of elected officials and in the area of how laws are made. THEY HATE THAT! They want people stupid and lazy. They can have more power that way.

Here is your downloadale PDF file of the MMMA so you can use it in a court of law, specifying how you cannot be discriminated against, if nothing else, perhaps grounds for an appeal and to bring attention to the media with, for when judges abuse their power and do not follow the letter of the law because they don't feel like it and because they discriminate and because the RESENT the fact that people are able to legally use marijuana, regardless of why.

Here is a link to a pdf manual you can download, for people interested in learning more about the appeal process, without a lawyer, in the Michigan court system. It is an interesting read and an easy read with out a lot of difficult wording. I always recommend consulting an attorney if possible.

http://coa.courts.mi.gov/pdf/at-handbook.pdf

Always remember when dealing with any courthouse, you must pay attention to deadlines and dates that paperwork is to be submitted to the court by. I am always reading about how many days a paper must be submitted to a court.

If I have trouble understanding a term, I usually google that term, word, or praise but I often add the word "Michigan" to the search.

Here is a book for Michigan called Misdemeanor Arraignments & Pleas

http://courts.michigan.gov/mji/resources/monographs/mono3-4/Monograph_3_Misd_Arraign_April-2009.pdf

This book sounds like it must written for a judge. It is called the CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE BENCHBOOK. The updates to the book look like the are added first, then comes the title and rest of the book.

Here is a PDF format of Michigan Circuit Court Benchbook: Criminal Proceedings

http://courts.michigan.gov/mji/resources/circuit-court/Criminal/CCBB-crim_April_2010.pdf

Here is an interesting pdf download for the Michigan court system. It is called PRETRIAL MOTIONS...the updated info is added at the beginning, then comes the actual book.

Here is a Michigan court book about EVIDENCE

http://courts.michigan.gov/mji/resources/Evidence/EvidBB_Cumulative_coversheet_April_2010.pdf

Here is a Michigan court book about Contempt of Court

http://courts.michigan.gov/mji/resources/contempt/Contempt_2009-2010-April.pdf

I didn't find a book specifically about district court, only circuit court.

I did find a link called National Center for State Courts and a page on their site called "Standard 3.1: Fair and Reliable Judicial Process.""Trial court procedures faithfully adhere to relevant laws, procedural rules, and established policies."

http://www.ncsconline.org/D_Research/TCPS/Standards/stan_3.1.htm

If there is just one person that finds any of this useful, helpful, or interesting, then it was worth it. I wish I knew about this stuff sooner. There is alot of very cool info on the internet. I do my best to get information from sites that seem legit. I found all of this info spending about 10 - 15 minutes on google and yahoo.

"shall not be subject to arrest, prosecution, or penalty in any manner"

The MDCH has encouraged the Judges of the State of Michigan to violate the rights of a class of patients under our Medical Marijuana law.

First and foremost, they have failed to express the protections afforded to patients that are on probation and/or parole within the state of Michigan.

In addition to failing to protect these patients, they have encouraged Judges and prosecutors within the state to violate such patient rights.

I got this info from the Michigan Legislature website. It is about judges. I'm going to give the link and the quote for people who don't want to click on a link:

http://www.legislature.mi.gov/%28S%283m4ptw3ihbljle45xiacnbzo%29%29/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&objectName=mcl-Article-VI-30

Way to Advocate!

Yes, we do live in a techno-tied world, for sure.

Shudder to think how uninformed we would still be without access to the Laws through the internet, eh?

Every single word read, typed and shared is appreciated, and very helpful to many.

Jennifer8 WOW! Thank you for posting that court info and encouraging ppl to get active.

Writing letters is a very powerful thing. I'd love to help Jb write a letter and post it here for input. If we could get enough ppl to write letters, especially those who've seen these judges abuse in action, it'd shine some light on this stuff that seems to be happening in too many places. The media is a very powerful tool. I haven't had much luck with newspapers, but maybe if enough ppl send letters, the papers will have to give us some attention.

Many voices together WILL be heard!

Sincerely, Sb

You posted that lengthy post on another thread, that stopped me in my tracks and actually left me for a loss of words momentarily, except, "......WOW.....". It was very powerful, from the heart. Parts of that would be very good in a letter. There could be more than one appropriate form letter, but still, a form letter for those who have something to say but have trouble with writing or little time for constructing important thoughts would welcome it, and some do have their own story to share, as with you.

By the way, I want to find a place like you spoke of, too. I believe many do.

Consistent effective writing, is an extremely useful tool. Never underestimate that. Also, you are correct in saying there is strength in numbers, but please know, one person can always make a difference.

Always remember the words from Gandhi, "When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall — think of it, always."
