Here's a section I've pasted:

Due to current media attention within the medical cannabis field, you may be familiar with some of the companies we host.

GW Pharmaceuticals (GWP.L) & (GWPRF.PK) in England is licensed by the UK Home Office to investigate and experiment with many controlled substances. They are responsible for developing Sativex ® Oromucosal Spray and developing the Advanced Dispensing System (ADS). As the UK and Canada share similar viewpoints regarding the benefits of medicinal cannabis, it is not uncommon for these groups to work in conjunction with each other. Sativex® is now prescribed in Canada.

Synthetic cannabis-related drugs are more widely prescribed in North America, especially Marinol ®, which is based on the cannabinoid structure of cannabis plants. The drug is produced by Solvay Pharmaceuticals Inc. (EBR:SVYSY) Solvay has also become famous for manufacturing peroxygens and plastics, although they are also responsible for supplying Nektar Therapeutics with a synthetic cannabinoid used for producing their own pharmaceuticals.

Nektar Therapeutics (NASDAQ:NKTR) is a biopharmaceutical company that focuses on patient analysis and quality of life when creating new drugs and technologies. In fact the space-age inhalers which have helped to make Nektar famous are the very ones used by Solvay for dispensation of their Dronabinol which is the active ingredient used in Marinol®.

Naturally the Netherlands is represented, as Omega Pharma NV (a/k/a Laboratoire Delta Pharm) (OMEP.BR) allows you to invest in the dispensation of Dutch medical cannabis.

Finally, space has been designated for a major staple of the hemp industry: clothing and textiles. Naturally Advanced (TSX-V) & (NADVF) has been specializing in eco- business, promotional, and private label clothing since 1993, and have experiences major success with their breakthrough fabric Crailar®.

(Little bit to add, Solvay was just purchased this year by Abbot, in Chicago. It was a multi billion dollar transaction, but Solvay only sold their pharmaceutical division, from what I understood, not everything else they do.)

Nicely written article, but all the corporates actually have is a synthetic but really not so closely related to cannabis along with a mostly hollow sales pitch. A few may benefit from it, but unless their product is exact to cannabis down to the atomic level, it would be 100% impossible for it to contain anything close to the more complete healing properties of any high quality organic medical cannabis.

We all know what works. Go natural as much as possible and stay natural. :thumbsu:

Peace.

You are right, my friend. Don't some of these chemists have to actually grow the real stuff in order to extract some of what they need? Maybe they just get it from the DEA or grow it on their own, regardless.

It's my understanding that Sativex is not a synthetic cannabinoid, but in fact a natural extract from the cannabis plant.
