Mercury Lights

I have some 175 watt mercury lights I would like to install, does anyone know if mecury is good for growing? If so would it be o.k to use in my flowering room? Also, I am flowering with mh bulbs I have no hps will I still get a good harvest or do I need the hps to finish?

u can finish with mh..... wont be as good as hps. but u gotta do....those merc lights are good for ur drive way but dont put em in ur grow room total waste of energy, if u can afford to waste the energy running them get a hps

thanks for the advice, I will get some hps, havent put the mercury lights up yet glad I didnt waste my time. I have 1000 watts mh now how much hps should I have. I am on a tight budget and sunk a lot of money in the mh set-up so whats the minimum hps I could add to my current set-up and make it worth the energy?

With 8 plants = 1000 watts or more if you can afford it.

see if you cant get a convertion bulb for that 100 watt mh ballast,peace
