Detroit Marijuana Initiative Hearing - August 26, 2010

This program ( http://www.upnorthmedia.org/watchupnorthtv.asp?SDBFid=2283#vid ) is an August 26 hearing in Wayne County Circuit Court regarding the City of Detroit's Election Commission rejecting a November ballot initiative that, if passed, would have prevented adults from being prosecuted by the city for possessing less than 1 ounce of marijuana. The Coalition for a Safer Detroit led the ballot petition drive and filed suit to force this issue on the ballot. Circuit Judge Michael F. Sapala declined to force the city to put it on the November ballot. The Coalition for a Safer Detroit say they will likely appeal his ruling.

I like how the election commission claims that if the municipal law conflicts with state law, then the municipal law is VOID!

I don't think Michael Bouchard knows this, perhaps they should meet.
