It's a narrow line for him to walk... He'll need to carry Cal. in the next election If he expects to win, but he really can't give them a pass on it if he wants to assert federal supremacy against Arizona's (repugnant) immigration law. In the meantime I suspect that other states are waiting to see what happens before they try for legalization themselves, and the DEA hammering him to not give up ground. If it were me I'd sit on the fence and smile and wave.

Obama's response will be timid, like everything else he does.

 

It's the next Republican President that they should be afraid of and the hypocrite Republicans on the Supreme Court, who usually stand up for State's Rights...... but only when it suits their agenda.
