Can anyone explain if and how I would pay state taxes on my income from growing?

 

Haven't talked to a tax attorney or accountant yet. Would like to know.

One way is to report the income under gardening/farming/agri, or some similar occupation.

 

This is the doomed if you do, doomed if you don't question.

 

Do you not report it and risk an audit that finds you cheated, or, do you report it and bring scrutiny upon yourself, knowing that the State may focus on you for doing it and that you are breaking a Federal law and making a record of that law breaking.

So a catch22 then, eh? My concerned father in-law brought up this question and I promised him I'd find out. Wasn't planning on paying any taxes, especially since I'm not charging right now, but I was curious how people that do charge are handling it.
