My Diy Air Cooled Hood Under 50 Bucks

I'll probably end up going with this ValueLine 8" Centrifugal Fan - 745 cfm The lamp in this thread's probably going to be going into my veg/mother room. And I'll end up probably getting a 1000 watt lamp (possibly) 600 for my bloom room.

Yup, seems to be doing great..

 

I'm not sure what sore of flow you thing you might need, but air cooling a lamp like this is SUPER SUPER inefficient.. The bulb is smooth, so there is very little direct heat exchange via surface area and radiant energy doesn't couple with air like it does with something like water for instance..

 

So, I actually couple more heat to the air per given volume by moving it slower, than those with the inline 600+cfm blowers.. by my estimation..

 

Now, weather I am crazy or not has yet to be determined..

 

But, like I said, the tops of the hoods are hardly warm.. I get plenty of heat below, in the form of radiant heat, but that can't be helped with air cooling.. My water cooler was AWESOME for the radiant heat.. heat in general..
