Posting Pics On The Site

Recommended Posts

i have redone the tutorial. the web address has stayed the same, but the pictures and info have changed to suit the new changes after the last site update.

for those still having problems posting pictures.........................

tutorial found here: http://michiganmedicalmarijuana.org/tutorials/t-31-uploading-pictures-for-posting-on-mmma20/

HOW TO UPLOAD AND POST PICTURES TO MMMA 2.0

first, in the upper right corner of the screen is your user name, it has a drop down menu attached to the little white arrow. choose "my gallery"

if you do not have the "my gallery" option, you can also begin the process from the "gallery" button found here:

once you get to this point, if you haven't already, you will have to create and name a new photo album. after you have created the album, it is time to add pics!! there are 2 buttons you can use. one is for a single pic upload (new image), and the other (bulk upload) button lets you upload 3 pics at a time

med_gallery_13801_60_45000.gif

after you press one of these 2 buttons, the upload screen will appear. at the bottom of the screen you will see a button that says "browse", clicking this button will let you browse the folders on your computer and choose the picture(s) that you want to upload

from here you will be browsing the files on your computer or memory card from your camera.

i prefer to resize the pictures to 640 x 480 while they are still on my computer but it is not 100% necessary. if you resize, they will come out at a decent size for all browsers once you post them. otherwise, they may turn out very very large on some browsers. but as i said, this is not 100% necessary..... but it is kind and considerate. depending on what kind of camera you have and what the quality is, you may want to resize.

if you are unsure on how to resize the pictures from your camera before uploading them to the MMMA site, just google "free picture resize program" and you will get the help you need. for those windows users, microsoft picture manager is easy as pie.

just find the picture on your computer, open it with microsoft picture manager and you see this:

gallery_13801_182_83549.jpg

and then from here you want to click on the "edit pictures" tab at the top of the page:

gallery_13801_182_8293.jpg

that will open up this window on the right side of your page....... giving you multiple options. from here you want to click on "resize" :

gallery_13801_182_9133.jpg

now you will see this:

gallery_13801_182_4407.jpg

at this point, just click the dot beside "predefined width x height" and one of your options will be for "web large"..... BINGO :)

after you have selected "web large" you want to hit the "ok" button below. this saves your picture in its new size. now close the picture manager.

it will tell you that there have been changes and ask you if you wish to save. press "yes".

now you are ready to rock and roll.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so we have taken pics, resized on our computer, started a gallery, and uploaded that first pic. this is where people tend to get a bit confused since the site has changed a bit.

after you get a bunch of pics loaded in your gallery it gets to looking like this..... with a bunch of smaller sized thumbnail pictures in it:

gallery_13801_182_14743.jpg

when you want to post one of these pictures into a thread/grow journal just click on it. and then scroll up a bit. you should see your chosen picture blown up with a bunch of addresses next to it:

gallery_13801_182_20188.jpg

those addresses, on the right hand side..... while the pic is big and blown up like that....... is what we are after. specifically the one that says "image link".

we want to copy/paste that address.

if you move your cursor over the box right next to the words "image link" and then right clicj, you should get an option to "select all". choose this and then right click again right away.... this should give you the option to "copy".

once you have the entire address copied, exactly how it appears inside the box, you are ready to post it into a thread.

so find a post/topic that you wish to reply to and hit the "add reply" button just as normal:

gallery_13801_182_8672.jpg

and when your reply screen opens up you see this:

gallery_13801_182_5492.jpg

there is an icon up there for posting pics... it is located here:

gallery_13801_182_4829.jpg

click on that icon and it will give you a place to enter the address of a picture.

gallery_13801_182_8183.jpg

this is where you want to paste the address.

after you paste it and click "ok" you should see success!

your picture will show up in your reply window. from there you can add words, or more pictures if you wish.
