The Township deferred voting on the ordinance, and is sending it to committee for further review, and they have agreed to get input from the community when the discuss it. Please see the below email that I received. If you would like information included, or would like me to deliver a statement, please feel free to let me know.

 

Gentlemen:

 

First, I thank you for taking the time to show genuine interest in our local level of government. I wish more people would take the time to be “involved”. All of you were very well spoken and respectful. It was greatly appreciated and it made it much easier to actually “listen” to your ideas and opinions.

 

The Medical Marijuana Committee is scheduled to meet for further discussion on the matter during the week of 03/28-04/01/2011. The committee is comprised of the following people: Treasurer George Cochran, Police Chief Timothy Bourgeois, Township Attorney Ken Sparks, Trustee Donald Martin, Planner Greg Milliken, Building Official Kevin Cardiff, and I. We will meet to discuss points that have been made during the public forums. I am requesting that each of you (only 3 people provided contact information) and any others who may be interested, please submit your WRITTEN input to my office no later than Thursday, 03/24/2011, at 4:30 p.m. To protect your privacy, please feel free to drop off your (unsigned) input in a sealed envelope addressed to me.
