Medical Marijuana Vs. Non Mm

I am new to all of this, and I have read a few post about marijuana and "medical Marijuana".

 

Whats the difference?

What is the difference between someone buying oxycontin on the street or having a doctor recommend/prescribe it?

The differance is Medical marijuana, is something that a dr has recommened for use to relieve pain for a PT.

 

But if you were to be arrested on the warrant it says ' marijuana' no referance to medical anything.

 

Medical marijuana is just that used for medicinal purposes, marijuana is just a plant.. anyone that uses marijuana is using medical marijuana, some forms are geneticaly grown for medical Pts to alleviate pain for differant purposes.. if you use marijuana w/o a dr recommending you do so, then your using it for either your own pain or recreational purposes. It's all the same thing as long as it includes the chemical THC in its makeup. Hope that helped.

'Medical' mj is just a concession that was made in attempt to decriminalize and even legalize marijuana in general... As in it being immoral to penalize and incarcerate a free person for such a non-violent, unharmful and private act as smoking the herb.

 

'Medical' was understood as more tolerable for the general voters and special interests held by the politicians and the lobby. As it stands, it allows for black, grey and no real legal market for registered smokers as patients... But still allows for arrest and jailing of hundreds or even thousands.

 

As a matter of actual marijuana... There is the hope that 'medical-grade' can mean better quality and selection and availability... Over what is available to the average smoker that buys on the streets. Perhaps even with standards in practices and quality, where mj can be safely consumed free from any adulterants or toxic residues or mold structures.
