Ann Arbor Police Encounters

I'm wondering if Ann Arbor police respect the A2 mj (not mmj) decriminalization law or if they arrest per county or state law. Has anyone had any encounters?

I'm wondering if Ann Arbor police respect the A2 mj (not mmj) decriminalization law or if they arrest per county or state law. Has anyone had any encounters?

 

Over the years, I have been written a couple of the civil infraction citations for having a small amount of cannabis. I am not sure how well the AAPD has been for everyone, but it seems as though the department does not make, posession of small amounts by adults, a priority. I had one at $5, and one at a $25 fine.The campus police, however, do adhere to state law, and charge people as such.

 

Every year, at Hash Bash, a few people get into trouble while standing on campus grounds, listening to the speakers. Yet, over at the Monroe St. Fair, on the edge of campus, in an area patrolled by the AAPD, the police do not seem to make hassling people over cannabis, a concern.
