Poll: Snyder Sinks 28 Points In 6 Weeks

Recommended Posts

Gov. Rick SNYDER's job approval rating has sunk a net 28 points since just before Election Day, as Michigan has been rocked by contentious issues like Right to Work (RTW).

In the poll, 41 percent of voters support the RTW legislation, while 51 percent are opposed to it.

Snyder's approval rating is now 38 percent and his negatives are 56 percent, according to a new poll released today by North Carolina-based Public Policy Polling (PPP).

In a Nov. 3 PPP poll, Snyder's approval rating was 47 percent positive and 37 percent negative.

"We now find Snyder as one of the most unpopular Governors in the country," PPP said in a writeup. ". . . There's not much doubt that it's the right to work law and his embrace of other actions by the Republican legislature that are driving this precipitous drop in Snyder's popularity."

The Democratic firm was the most accurate Michigan pollster during the 2012 election, according to a MIRS analysis (See "PPP Most Accurate MI Pollster, Foster Worst," 11/14/12). A Fordham University study ranked PPP first among 28 national polling firms last cycle.

Snyder, whose term ends in 2014, trails all potential Democratic challengers: Senate Minority Leader Gretchen WHITMER (D-East Lansing), Lansing Mayor Virg BERNERO, U.S. Rep. Gary PETERS (D-Bloomfield Twp.) and former U.S. Rep. Mark SCHAUER.

In the Nov. 3 poll, Snyder lead a generic Democrat 47 percent to 41 percent and the firm said the Governor looked generally safe for '14.

Isn't MIRS a private service where these emails are too not be forwarded for penalty of law? I wonder about people sometimes. :-)

I say this because these subscriptions cost alot of money and other people using that news service feel as though they are being ripped off by people that publicly post private news without permission.
