Well there has always been a diiference between soil and hydro grows. IMO Soil wins in taste. But for production, size, and potency hydro pulls aheaad all the time. I am currently heavy into hydro, but I have soil going also. So this is what I decided to try. Soil and hydro mix

It seems to be working. These plants were vegged under a 600 hps for 2 weeks and are moving to the flower room today

Has anyone else tried this? End results?

So, how are you doing this? Are you using soil in net pots with a bubble stone and nutes underneath? Looks very cool, and they appear to be doing well. I have seen something where they split the pot with a divider and use soil in one half, and hydro medium in the other side. From what I have read, the plants this is done too take nutes much better without exhibiting over fert problems. They put nutes in the one side and RO water in the other, but for the life of me... I can't remember what side (soil or hydro-mix) gets nutes and which gets the plain water. Keep us posted, very interesting! :) If this works you may want to change your tag to "Mad Scientist" . :)
