What Documentation Of My Patients Do I Need To

If I am a caregiver and I have 1 or 2 or 5 patients, what documentation of their's should I keep on hand while I am growing their meds? Do I need to keep the docs on hand if/when I am transporting their meds as well? Thanks to all who reply!

You need the same paperwork and documents you need as a patient. You need a copy of all pages sent in with the application, the certificate of mailing, and the cancelled check when possible. Yes you need a copy where you are growing, when you are transporting or anything else related to your CG duties. The paperwork serves as your card after 20 days, just as the law states.

You should also have all plants and medicine labeled with names, dates, and strains.

Only part I do not agree with is I think and have been told you must have a copy of the cancelled check (more reason to use a check and not a money order, even if you have to have a friend write a check for you as its much easier to get a copy of a cancelled check). When I first sent my paperwork in eons ago I sent it delivery conf and return receipt (meaning they signed a card when the envelope was delivered and that card was returned to me for the few that may not know) I went to a dispensary 30 days after and was told I had to have a copy of the check, I went to another 2 in the next town over and had the same result. I went and got a new printer that night and was back visiting each of them a few days later with no problems at all. Now if you are asking about police it seems so far most police do not accept paperwork as valid and you need to cross your fingers and hope you card arrives before court. You need copies of each patients paperwork with you as well (or at least 1 patients paperwork per 2.5 ounces you have).

As for labeling the medicine with name, strain, weight etc I would like to hear what an attorney has to say about this as I have heard mix opinions on this from various clubs, dispensaries and CGs. Some say no way and some say you must, I have had 2 attorneys (not MMJ specialist) insist you only put a printed label that it is MMJ pursuant to code ..... do not operate a motor vehicle, heavy machinery etc and keep out of reach of children.

I hope his helps as this is the only info I can share but its what happens I'm learning.

When I was raided a couple weeks ago, I had all 28 papers required by law. (6 pieces each, 4 patient and my own paperwork.)

Cops suggested I copied at 711 or sometime and deemed them invalid as they could not verify the validity. They still have them.

As for labeling, all mine were labled date, strain and patient initials.

Bad move, as the leo spent about an hour not understanding that the names and dates do not have to coordinate as we do trade clones and other plants of various sizes. For instance a caregiver gave me one dated to weeks before I was legal. He assumed I was growing illegally as opposed to someone just gave me an older plant one day..idiots! Initials just keep me assured of having no more than 12 per. Now I use a dot sytem I developed and keep the records locked.

Hope it helps...learning here too!

Best grows to you!
