Anaheim Residents Protest Medical Pot Shop

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- Anaheim residents of all ages demonstrated, demanding a medical marijuana dispensary leave their neighborhood.

 

 

 

Adults and kids were out in force Friday night, protesting the dispensary on Chestnut Street that opened up in January.

 

Neighbors say it doesn't belong in a residential area with lots of children.

 

Anaheim passed an ordinance banning pot shops, but medical marijuana advocates filed a lawsuit. Police and city leaders say their hands are tied and they can't try to force the shop to move until the lawsuit is resolved.

“But we did say to them the question about dispensaries needed clarification,” Virciglio said. “I interpreted the law, personally, that dispensaries are not in the law, so it’s illegal.

 

That's the kind of thing that pisses me off, just cause its not written anywhere what makes it illegal?
