Needing A Windshield Installed..

Is there any one in here that installs windshields? We ahve a 2003 envoy ad need to repalce windshield,,And no it isnt being paid by insurance..thought i would throw it out there and see if any one out here does..Thanks in advance..

a car went by us and a Huge Rock hit my

windshield on our 1992 Dodge Dynasty ....

I put one in my first car (ford festiva) and it wasn't that bad, with a nice car like your's I'd just pay a pro to do it. $200 aint so bad.

 

if ya's got a little chip theres that commercial on tv, safelight? spose to be free to fix thru insurance. only fills chips though.

take off all the trim,get some piano wire and wrap it around a box end wrench and stick it thru the seal of the window. wrap the other end around a box end and get someone on each side and go back and forth like a saw. watch out for the trim and dash it will cut it.

 

once all the way around push from inside slow and light if it's not hung up take it out, if it's broke ya might wanna have a shop vac going to suck up glass and a tarp down to catch the glass on the ground.

 

once out, scrap all the old crap off and clean it up good.

 

the seal stuff ya can buy at carquest, i'd get the stuff on a roll not the gun stuff.

 

roll it out so ya got a nice seal ( mine leaked in one corner)

 

stick the window in and put trim back on.

 

 

it's been 12 years since i did it but thats the basics of how i did mine.

 

the pros have all the tools and know how to do it super quick, and right

I have to call and find out if my insurance covers it, I have AAA and I have heard they do not cover stone chips anymore?

My window (Jeep Wrangler) has MULTIPLE stone chips and I think it needs to be replaced.......

 

Jeep Wranglers are prone to stone chips!
