Simpson Oil Tastes Alcoholly

I just fished my second attempt at Simpson oil. I don't use it but provide it for one of my patients. Is a slight to moderate alcohol taste normal or does it need to be cooked down more? Thanks for any help.

I've only tried it from one source, and in that limited exxperience I didn't taste any alcohol. Just plant taste.

Simpson oil shouldn't have any alcohol taste. I would either leave it out to evap on its own, or put it back on lowheat iso left in your oil is no good.If you need someone to show you hands on nest time I can help you out.

your oil should be processed in a rice cooker at 180 until there are NO bubbles left.

 

large bubbles (solvent) turn into tiny bubbles (CO2) until there are none left. your product is now solvent free and de-carboxolized, ready for use

thx for the info, I'll put it back in the rice cooker and see if I can't get it to evaporate.

If your doin it carefully,it can take a while to get all the little bubbles out - at that point maybe an hour and you keep it in one end of the cooker,its about as thick as heavy motor oil.And should smell like Green plant oil - use your imagination.Enjoy!

Good idea Q-Tipper, I put it in a shot glass and put it in the rice cooker. I think I'm going to use the water bath on the coffee maker idea next time.
