Supreme Court Limbo Limit?

Is there any time limit for the Supreme Court to decide to act or not? There is a case I've been watching ( unrelated to mmma) that the Coa decided a year ago that was appealed. The sc has not said if they will take it or let the coa decision stand yet. Just wondering how long cases can hang like that without any start to resolution.

did you look the case up on the mich courts site?

 

did the appealate submit everything required to the sct ?

i think both parties have to submit briefs to the sct first , before they will decide to hear it.

usually they figure it out within a year however.

 

has it been a year since they first submitted things to the sct?  every document they add gets another extension probably.

Took 8 months for Koon, SCT didn't say they were going to even take the case and then poof... showed up in the opinions one day.

 

Without oral arguments, which was huge!
