250 Watt Bulb

I have a new lumatek ballast that will operate 250 / 400 bulbs the 250 watt mh bulb when i turn the system on the bulb won't start up i have to plug and unplug the ballast a few times...now when i have my 400 watter in it starts right up...any help thanx in advance. migreen

If it's new and under warranty, I would return it immediately. May be hazardous as it is now.

Agreed lumatek has one of the best return policies on the web theres definitly something wrong with this unit.

may be the bulb, the 400 watt starts real fast...I have run the 250 for a few hours now and it seems to start on a few test starts..
