Dual Ballast

Anyone use a dual ballast. I am upgrading & was going to buy a 1k but am looking (at growco) at the dual 600. I just don't know anyone using a dual ballast so could use some input .

 

Am useing a 400 now with 2 ea 125 w cfl's. would like 2 600's but can only afford 1 unit right now but could pay the $150 extra for the duel if its dependable & worth the $$$. + is there a difference in power use between 1 dual ballast & 2 standard ones ?

 

One disadvantage I can see, is if the ballast failed. With 2 separate ones I'd get by in a jam.

I use all dual ballast. i have seen no down side to them. $150 MORE for it sounds high tho.

One of the ebay sellers i deal with carries the lumatek dual 600 watt which gives you the choice of using one at a time or both at once im contimplating buying one using one side for 41/2 weeks then turn on both 600s for the remainder of flowering .
