1000 Watt Vented Hood

i just got a 1000w mh lite. it came with a hps conversion bulb which is what i will be using in the vented hood.

 

is a 250 cfm in-line duct fan big enough to adequately exhaust a light of this size?

Depends on where your pulling the air from and pushing it out if its a out of room through the room out a window vent deal maybe but if your cooling it and not venting to another room no .

Thats the one i use but could not find the link earlier if you do indeed buy this fan please be sure to buy the speed controller too it comes in handy for those cool nights where full power is not necessary. :thumbsu:

I had a quick question about venting.

 

If you pull COLD WINTER Air in to cool your lights, won't that perhaps crack or break the bulb? I would just think really cold air being sucked in from the cold weather may damage the bulb or light.

 

Anyone?

 

i would think condensation would build up pretty quickly if winter air was being used to cool bulbs/hoods
