New To This, Livingston County

Hello,

I am new to all of this and it is after heavy discussion with my husband that I am looking into it. I suffer from chronic pain from fibromyalgia and all the little things that go along with it. I have tried many pain medications will little results or bad side effects. My question... how do I get started? What do I need to know where do I go? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank You

well you can get started by talking to your doctor.

 

unfortunately, many doctors, especially ones connected to hospitals will get rid of patients who use mmj.

so if you like your current doctor, maybe its not a good idea to ask him for a certification.

 

next you get copies of your medical records, charts etc. go to your doc and just say you need a copy. they might make one for a fee or might give it for free. if they ask just say its for your records and medicare stuff and they will oblige.

 

then take those charts, notes, records to a certification doctor. the cert doc will review your records, maybe do a physical and certify you if you qualify for fibromyalgia pain (which it does qualify).

 

then you mail the forms the doc gives you into LARA at the state of michigan with $100 check / money order and wait 30 days for your card to arrive. then you can figure out caregiver or growing (or both) from there.

 

be sure to ask questions, theres scant info out there.

Thanks. I really like my doctor and he has been so nice. I am afraid to talk to him about it because I don't want him to drop me. I know the doc office next door to him was raided and closed (my doc told me). How do I find one who will review my records for certification? I am in the Howell/Brighton/heartland area.
