Reverse Sting - Charges Dropped!

"Former Texas narcotics officer Barry Cooper, who turned against the Drug War and pulled a reverse sting operation against the Odessa Police Department, will walk on all charges related to the incident, an attorney for Ector County announced Tuesday.

Cooper, well known for his Never Get Busted DVDs, set up a fake marijuana grow house in Odessa, wired it for sound and video, and then used an anonymous letter to lure police into a December 2008 raid, reports Stephen C. Webster at The Raw Story.

The letter was delivered to a local church, which then turned it over to police. Not long after that, the door came crashing in as gung-ho officers came bursting through."

Thanks for the post. Berry is an ex-swatt/drug enforcement officer. For those that do not follow Berry Cooper he has been subject to extreme harassment. Threats over the phone. Arrests for simple things like returning a video late. Children taken away. Raids. And much more. It started after he started speaking out against the drug war and peaked after his kopbusters show. Berry has freed a girl from prison after getting leaked dash cam video showing the police set her up and planted the evidence. He is a true warrior.

Did Barry set up this fake grow house just to get tapes for a video that he is putting out? I wonder what his motives were?

His motive was to bring out into the open the corruption in the police force he targeted. Just as he suspected, they raided the house based only on a tip, with no collaborating evidence. Since the tip was not even a first party witness and there was no other evidence, the raid was illegal.

This was taken from the article:

"Cooper said he set up the grow house after he was hired by the father of Yolanda Jean Madden, an Odessa woman who for months said police conspired to plant drugs on her. Madden...had her conviction set aside for a new trial.."

Sounds like that Bouchard bunch of wild deputies with over 29 counts of covered up criminal activity committed by deputies all over Oakland County, backed up by depositions.

It also sounds like the way the Oakland County prosecutors office operates, which is backed up by court documents and depositions.

For those who missed the point in Berry's case the police had to fraudulently obtain the search warrant. They had to commit perjury because the only evidence was an anonymous tip and in TX warrants can't be issued on that alone.

One of the things he said in the letter was there was a large amount of cash in the house that was going to be moved in 24 hours. They wanted that money.

We could set that up here in MI but look what it did for Berry. As far as I know no perjury charges were brought against police but Berry was changed. How messed up is that? The system is broken.
