For The Greenhouse: Needed: A Degradable 5 Gallon Pot

for ease of transplant, nothing beats dropping the whole container into the hole and covering it. Such biofriendly, biodegradable pots are availble in seed size (like Jiffy) but nothing bigger than 5 inches.  Same for newspaper and certain fiber and pulp pots.  Where are the eco-green large pots hiding?

This weekend, 6/1,2 the folks from Maximum Yield are doing an indoor gardening show in Novi.  I have been to their show for the last three years.  If there is something new,  it will be there.

Smart pots are $10 for a 10 gallon.  Just buy burlap sacks for 50 cents and they hold up to 50 gallons.  Cut them in half for a 25 gallon pot.  Degrades after one season outdoors.  Trust me.

Or go to the salvation army and buy 100% cotton pillowcases for 25 cents each and poke a few holes in them.....but yeah...."big pots" are cheap.
