What If My Dr.(Do) Is Anti Mm And Will Not Sign Physican Certification Form

Recommended Posts

Does any know how this works? I am about to see my Doctor a (Do) for the second visit (Cronic Pain)and I don't think he will fill out the (Physians Certification) form for me. Can I just take a copy of my medcial records to a certification center without my doctor approval for MM and can I still be approved for my MM card? any help or advise will really help. thank you.

No .... You dont need your Primary Doctor to sign

your Certificate....

Request copies of your medical records and go see

a Compassion Doctor ...

Of course it 'll cost you a little Cash ...

But worth it in the End....

Ps... As a Doctor you should know that ... LoL

Also from everything I have read suggesting the idea of MMJ is a very bad idea specially if you depend on him for various scripts. There has been horror stories of docs dropping patients. I would do what Tarzan said and get your medical records and go elsewhere and never bring it up to your doc.

Thats what i was forced to do this time last year my doctor still rips me on my medical use i just let it go in one ear out the other .

Go to your clinic give them the fax number you want the records sent to sign the clerks paperwork for the release of your records and as long as you qualify your good to go.

Unless you are on a pain contract or have prescriptions for multiple pain meds, I encourage patients to ask their regular doctor about MMJ. The best approach is to be able to tell them how marijuana is currently helping you. Hearing the benefits they receive from one patient won't change a doctors mind, but hearing from many might. The other thing is that the doctor might just say yes and save you from paying several hundred dollars to a clinic. Keep working on the doctor during future visits if they don't throw you out of their practice when you tell them. I figure a doctor who would throw me away as a patient probably does not need the money anyway. I certainly don't need a doctor who would do that to me.

I have multiple doctors who I see, all are aware of my patient status and none have thrown me out.My primary care doctor is the one who signed for me.

Yes you do have some good points for sure about getting the word out to docs but is it really worth the chance for some people to lose there doctor over uttering the word MMJ? I have read far more horror stories about primary doctors giving patients the boot rather then signing there forms for them.

Its disgusting that so called smart people are ignorant or refuse to understand that MMJ flat out makes people feel better over a spectrum of ailments with very little repricusions.

Filing cabinet syndrome...common with the doctor breed, lol. My opinion here, this is your doctor..if you dont have a good enough relationship with them or if they are not compassionate to your strife then it very well may be time to move on anyways. My doctor told me "not at this time", despite my plee for his understanding of the benefits and releif that it brings to my life. That is not a good doctor in my opinion, i wasnt asking for a prescription, only for him to back me when the truth of the matter was, it improved my quality of life. Its a hollow feeling knowing that one person holds the power to make someone suffer or make them comfortable and to have them look you in the eyes and say "No". He forgot that he worked for me...now i have a new doctor that is compassionate to my plee.

Good for you Six,

The doctor who said not at this time might have been worth keeping. It does not sound like they flat out rejected the idea just that they did not have enough information or the whole thing was still to new for them and they were being cautious.

Another problem I have encountered is that when a doctor is in a multi-partner practice or works for a medical service company with branches all over the place, the practice or company will decide to not allow any of their doctors to write recommendations. At my dialysis clinic, two of the doctors were very open to the idea until the practice made a policy of not signing. My Veterans Administration doctor signed a recommendation before the official state forms were released. When I went back with the official form she had been told by the VA that they were not allowed to sign.

I keep reading about primary care physicians that will sign the recommendation and then the stories about the doctors that will kick you out...as my pain management doctor will as soon as I'm drug tested again.

It would be great if we could start a list of pain management doctors, primary care, and other specialties who are compassionate doctors or clinics. There are to many of us searching for compassionate primary care docs now that we are legal. To many of have had to co to compassionate clinics to get our paperwork signed.

I'm glad I found this thread. The possibility of my current md's dropping me if I do find a clinic to help me get certified is a large concern of mine. the more I think about this happening, the more I think I should NOT discuss this with my current md's as I can't afford to go out and find new ones and pay the huge intial fee for each new specialist that I see.

you've given me good food for thought here, but at the same time I'd like for my md's to know what I'm taking and how I take it, in case there's any medical complications in the future, of which I've had many.

Your one of the lucky ones! I would have to disagree unfortunatly dr.s are mostly anti mm, they are biting the hand that feeds them if they rite you a rec and you stop doing the meds! I asked both of my long time dr.s for a recomdation both said they dont believe in it, one in houghton lake and the other in detroit, I had to go elsewhere with my records and get a dif dr. to do it for me, within 3 months of being legal I was asked to do a urine drop, the first time ever, they found mm in my system and quit me!

go to a thc clinic and dont tell your dr.s nothing!

Peace!

Jim

I am with the Mid-Michigan's Medical Marijuana Rx. We do patient certifications and are located in Saginaw. We encourage folks to maintain relationships with their personal physcians if at all possible. Some are good and some are not so good about medical marijuana. Very often it is the policy of the clinic/practice to NOT do certifications and for many I think it's just a case of not really understanding the law. We are happy to see patients in our practice and have a pretty flexible schedule. Our fees are $200 and we travel to some of the underserved areas about once a week. We would be happy to talk with anyone who has questions. Please call 989-332-4881. We are going to be in Ann Arbor on Thursday this week (May 20) and in Grayling MI in June. Probably back to Oscoda in another week or so. Joey

my doc misunderstood when i told him that i was going to get certified and threatened to discharge me. I am still with the same doc and he is slowly coming around. If i had not told him i would be in alot of trouble. COMING ALONG KICKING AND SCREAMING IS OK.
