Awesome...

I hear the singing of the lives of women. The clear mystery, the offering, the pride.

Thanks

If you wannta git naste, here’s Millie Jackson

This is not the best vid, but it’s Millie live

Check out when she says, “Treat your woman like a stamp on a letter” and “Find that little man in the Boat”

I had to come back with this one. Don't want anyone to think I'm not "All the way"!

Taj,

Are you a credit watcher too, or did you know Loreena did that

song for the movie?

Very nice.

Neither, just knew of her and her music. Seems kind of a long while ago, either was a friend, radio show, or mucking around on the internet that I noticed her music.

:)

Ms Chocolate... Thank you so much for jumping in and posting ALL of these great ladies.

I had never heard of Bettye LaVette (yeah, I was a country girl w/ little exposure).

Very nice choices.

I'm going to listen to this set of Millie again... :P

'Bout time we got some Jazz of the Free variety in.

Alice Coltrane (Harp, Piano)

I have a couple of Alice’s LP’s. Now I have to dig them out for a listen.

I’ll do the same with Phobe Snow. I must be older than I think. People whom I have had the chance to meet, are dying. R. I. P. lady.

MighyyMightyMezz, you got me in the LP closet. If you like Alice Coltrane, check out this lady, Mrs. Dorothy Ashby.

I have this album. It is awesome!

If you are into Detroit Jazz, you may be aware of Alma Smith. She is a family friend, going back 80+ years. She is in very bad medical shape. There is nothing on youtube, but I will see if I can get someome to load somethings here.

That is dope.

I don't think I am familiar with Alma Smith, but I hope she gets well.
