Digital Camera Shopping

I'm still using my 35 mm. (really!).

I've been researching / shopping for a digital for tooooo long.

So many variables, moving parts and an instruction manual

larger than my med records , it's a bit overwhelming to me.

I've been in the Galleries. Some of you take the sweetest pix

So, I was thinking... who better to ask? Some photography geeks

speaking a language that goes right over my head?

Nah, I'm asking y'all... family.

 

What camera do you use?

Why?

Pros and cons... ?

Would you recommend it to a friend?

If you were to buy different one, what would it be?

 

Should I get a/ the packaged accessories or separate...

ie, extra battery/ ies, charger/ s, tri-pod, case,

screen protector, etc... along w/ camera?

 

This will be primarily a traveling camera.

I would like something that has great zoom @ distances.

Close ups, stills and videos. Easy to see viewing screen.

I have had great difficulty being able to view the screen,

and end up having no idea what I'm really shooting...

esp. if the sun is bright.

Not too big, not too small, reasonable cost.

Easy to hold on to, grip. Big buttons for fat fingers.

I don't want to change lenses (at least to begin).

 

I want one to do EVERYTHING ~ carry itself and take the pix ~

+ leave no margin for user error!

 

Any positive or humorous input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm just an old hippie, trying to get with the times so...

Thanks Bri, I've been seriously looking at this camera. It is nice to see how the close ups look.

I also need one that will show detail to upload to my on line shop.

Yes this is the same camera i use wife bought it for me for christmas and my pictures come out awesome !
