maxmax
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - Thursday is decision day for Governor Snyder. After reviewing the evidence for and against an emergency financial manager, he is expected to announce the next step in Detroit's future. However, we may already know that decision thanks to Fox 2's political correspondent Tim Skubick. "The governor has decided and he will announce at two o'clock [Thursday] afternoon Detroit indeed does need, repeat does need, an emergency manager, and he will send the emergency manager in," said Skubick. "Now this may not start right away because court challenges are likely, but the governor reached the conclusion... after reviewing the testimony that the city presented... basically with the city pleading with the governor saying that the EM was premature. Obviously the governor did not agree. It's not premature. It's what is needed to be done to get the city back on a solvent path, and while last year he didn't want to do an EM, he has now concluded that's the direction he will head." This one hear can be especially troubling: These Pests do not only affect agriculture, but can also even affect houses, such as the Death watch beetle. The death watch beetle, Xestobium rufovillosum, (family Anobiidae) is of considerable importance as a pest of older wooden buildings in Great Britain. It attacks hardwoods such as oak and chestnut, always where some fungal decay has taken or is taking place. It is thought that the actual introduction of the pest into buildings takes place at the time of construction.[61] the Beatles Reme Remeber **** Remember Reputa ****** Edited March 15, 2013 by solabeirtan
Wild Bill
Look what they did to Benton Harbor. They sold the city's only park to a developer (coincidentally a group the EFM was a member of) who built a golf course that is way too expensive for all but the well off to use. Maybe they can sell Belle Isle to a waste recycling company and really help the citizens of Detroit.

rhinoman
here's my take of all this em stuff. i think its all about payback to the people of detroit for the way they vote. detroit would have the money if they had control of the water dept but thanx to kwamie he screwed that up too so now a fed judge is in control of the water dept. Gov. douche face nerd has been with holding moneys to the city (cuz there was nothin in writing) for these funds. and you have these other repubic"s sayin its the liberals and unions falt bs. and tell me why a lawyer would give up a million dollor job just to take $275000 to run the city? pic book
Cancel/renegotiate contracts and pensions. Strap a gas bag over Watson's mouth and lease Belle Isle. File chapter 7 and wipe out $13Trillion in debt that presently bows municipal finances and puts the budget annually $100 million out of whack. Thus freeing up a dollar to fix sinkhole potholes, replace missing traffic signals and downsize the city to what can be sustained. Summary: do what our city politicos wouldn't--give up their careers (and city paycheck) to accomplish.
