Review of 69 peer reviewed studies on marijuana smoking youths reveals no brain changes

Did you know that NIDA (the National Institute of Drug Abuse) only grants research on the negative effects of marijuana?

“As the National Institute on Drug Abuse, our focus is primarily on the negative consequences of marijuana use,” said Shirley Simson, a spokeswoman for the drug abuse institute, known as NIDA. “We generally do not fund research focused on the potential beneficial medical effects of marijuana.”

Still , this research continually backfires on the prohibitionist agenda at NIDA, because in a meta review of 69 different research studies, totaling over 2000 marijuana smoking youths, no significant brain changes were found.

Conclusions and Relevance  Associations between cannabis use and cognitive functioning in cross-sectional studies of adolescents and young adults are small and may be of questionable clinical importance for most individuals. Furthermore, abstinence of longer than 72 hours diminishes cognitive deficits associated with cannabis use. Although other outcomes (eg, psychosis) were not examined in the included studies, results indicate that previous studies of cannabis in youth may have overstated the magnitude and persistence of cognitive deficits associated with use. Reported deficits may reflect residual effects from acute use or withdrawal. Future studies should examine individual differences in susceptibility to cannabis-associated cognitive dysfunction.

This is obvious to any medical marijuana patient here in Michigan as we all would know immediately if our brain functions were diminished in any way. Also of significance are the smart and successful people of our generation who have used marijuana, even many past presidents, astro-physicists , scientists, physicians, lawyers, rocket scientists, etc etc.

Speaking of astro-physicists and scientists, here are some choice Carl Sagan quotes from the 1969 book Marihuana Revisitied:

Quote

"The cannabis experience has greatly improved my appreciation for art, a subject which I had never much appreciated before. The understanding of the intent of the artist which I can achieve when high sometimes carries over to when I'm down. This is one of many human frontiers which cannabis has helped me traverse."

"A very similar improvement in my appreciation of music has occurred with cannabis. For the first time I have been able to hear the separate parts of a three-part harmony and the richness of the counterpoint. I have since discovered that professional musicians can quite easily keep many separate parts going simultaneously in their heads, but this was the first time for me."

"Again, the learning experience when high has at least to some extent carried over when I'm down. The enjoyment of food is amplified; tastes and aromas emerge that for some reason we ordinarily seem to be too busy to notice. I am able to give my full attention to the sensation. A potato will have a texture, a body, and taste like that of other potatoes, but much more so."

"Cannabis also enhances the enjoyment of sex - on the one hand it gives an exquisite sensitivity, but on the other hand it postpones orgasm: in part by distracting me with the profusion of image passing before my eyes. The actual duration of orgasm seems to lengthen greatly, but this may be the usual experience of time expansion which comes with cannabis smoking."

"I do not consider myself a religious person in the usual sense, but there is a religious aspect to some highs. The heightened sensitivity in all areas gives me a feeling of communion with my surroundings, both animate and inanimate."

"When I'm high I can penetrate into the past, recall childhood memories, friends, relatives, playthings, streets, smells, sounds, and tastes from a vanished era. I can reconstruct the actual occurrences in childhood events only half understood at the time. Many but not all my cannabis trips have somewhere in them a symbolism significant to me which I won't attempt to describe here, a kind of mandala embossed on the high. Free-associating to this mandala, both visually and as plays on words, has produced a very rich array of insights."

"The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world."

It is stupid to say that marijuana has only bad effects or to say that it brings only beneficial effects. Like any other product, marijuana has beneficial effects as well as harmful effects, and it just depends on how you take it, and what is the quality of the products you take. Honestly, I also was in the opinion that marijuana is harmful, and I must avoid taking it, but the last year, I started feeling unbearable back pain. I couldn't walk, and the situation was difficult for me. Thankfully I have a friend who is a doctor, and he recommended buying CBD oil from this online store dailymarijuana.co. I followed his advice and in a few days, I had no pain at all.

So you are in Illinois, spamming us here in Michigan, with an advertisement from Colorado.

How could anyone believe a word you say?
