Areo set up pump cycle times. Either will work ,but there must be a trade off some where. ON/OFF cycles may be hard on the pumps.

Clone 24 on or on 1 min off 5 min

Veg 24 on or on 1 min off 5 min

Flower 24 on or on 1 min off 5 min

Your opinions please

can you detail your aero system a little better? and what kind/how big pumps you using?? i'd supplement with a commercial air pump and run all day everyday seed to smoke

i just have an "out of the box" cannon powershot S2IS. 5mp with 48x total zoom. can't count how many THOUSANDS of pics i have taken playing with that darn camera. i think i have learned EVERY single function it has on it now. once i get moved and unpacked i will bring out the "hall of fame" pictures of my favs over the past year.

maybe someday i will invest in a high dollar lens....

actually, hella good eyes man. i just clipped it last night out of a friends room. figured i will play with the camera since i can't do anything but stare at it right now anyways :D

NICE PICS ABOVE!!! I'm all canon all the way lol, I use a 40d but I do photography as a side business. The powershots are great, Do you use the macro setting? Also how much of that zoom is digital? Thats when your pic begins to degrade, I would zoom in as far as the lens zooms and then use macro focus to get a nice close picture. I like to be right up on my guys I generally shoot at 100mm on a macro focus, but my lens isn't true macro is 1:2 instead of 1:1

i would LOVE to learn more about cameras..... photographing buds is almost as fun as growing..... almost ;)

those pics are at 12x optical zoom. the set of 3 above them were using some digital. i have never really had much luck with the macro setting..... dunno. but then i don't get to use sunlight very often either...... i dont lay my meds on the front porch for picture time :) so it's either the flash or MH lighting for me usually. since my grow room is torn down and ready to move, im out in the sun today so maybe i will mess the macro a little more today..... but yeah man, those last 3 really are nice pics.

oh and by the way.... the medicine is pretty f*ckin' incredibly tasty too. :D

i clipped a nug last week as well.

I love photographing anything, especially buds lol. Optical > digital by far, digital starts cropping the image to fit it to the same dimension so you begin losing quality. Macro is very picky about lighting, also needs to be very close to the subject, a good cheap lighting solution is one of those cheap clamp lamps you can get at the hardware store. Also a coffee filter or white t-shirt infront of the bulb will help soften up the light alot so you can put it closer to the subject. Sunlight is great but can sometimes case slight issues with white balance. If you're shooting under a metal halide and you can control your shutter speed try setting it to 1/60 or 1/30 I can't remember how many hz they output but that speed and only that speed will stop it from having all those lines.

HI EVERYONE!!

I am new to the MMMJ site, but not new to MMJ or cultivation. I am more than willing to help anyone with any cultivation/grow room related questions. I will pop in daily to answer. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Hi BG,

I know I may be out of my tree here, but is there such thing as a grow set up that requires little or NO maintenance? When I say maintenance, i am referring to watering, feeding and so forth. I know that lights can be put on a timer, but can everything else? Thanks in advance.

oh i sure wish there was :)

to be 100% honest, either soil or hempy buckets is probably the easiest.

it really depends on each individual grower though. i mean i COULD leave my room for a few days at a time i guess. my bubble buckets won't run dry in a few days, the air pumps are on 24hrs/day, and the lights are on timers obviously..... so i think bubblebuckets are easy, but like i said.... its definitely a matter of opinion.

hempy buckets are probably the simplest way once you get them dialed in properly. but of course others will argue. :D :D

Hempy's require watering, thats about it, a DWC would be about as simple because you just gotta change the res every so often. If you had a hempy setup with the buckets suspended over the res and a pump set to pump once a day you could theoretically fill the hempys with x amount of water every morning, the excess would drain back into the res and you would probably only need to go in every 2 weeks or so to change the res however, not watching your plants for a few weeks can be catastrophic as well. If one were to develop a nute def or pest issue, it would manifest for quite some time before you even noticed...

exactly.....

this is why i said i "could" leave them alone for a few days if i absolutely needed to. but if i don't check my ph and ppm twice a day there is no way in hell i could ever focus on anything else in life.

 Agree'd I was more speaking in theory of how one "Might" beable to get away with not checking on anything... but then again at that point wheres the fun of growing...? ;)

the sun is so beautiful today, and since im not cooped up in my grow room, i hijacked another bud from the neighbors for photo time!!

Great shot, I like the contrast, was the sun just coming up when you took that?

i bought the camera like 4 years ago. stupid thing on my part really..... i know that in the world of decent digital cameras, $400 is a TON of money. (i have seen the same model, used, on craigs list for $75) but i had the extra cash, and it was the "top of the line consumer model" back then. makes me laugh now..... we took maybe 50 pics in the 1st 3 years with it......

then i started photographing plants/buds.

and a year and probably 5,000 pics later, it was the coolest $400 i ever spent.

here's a jungle of 4-6ft tall WW. old pic from the cali grow room.

Haha if you want to get more into it look into a Canon Rebel series camera, the Xt's are getting very low on price and are great cameras, my first Camera was the XTi then I upgraded to a 40d which is just the XTi with more features, basically a professional version. The killer is the lenses but Sigma and Tamron make some very fair priced lenses for canons. Also This isn't my pic by anymeans but I just came accross this and its absolutely gorgeous!

darn thats a beautiful pic......... i was drooling until i got to the end of your post and read that it wasnt yours :D

actually the circle was from me screwing around with the camera again........ imagine that huh. i zoomed all the way in on that bud, and started a series of 10 shots in a row, gradually widening the angle to the pic you see above. i posted them as a series of pics and kind of played a "follow the bud" thing as i backed off. something stupid i did months ago for a journal on grasscity.

i have seriously been considering blowing some $ on a new camera once i get moved and set up and everything..... i will be picking your brain and getting your opinions for sure.

p.s.

i'm not a "hater", but that picture MUST be aided by led lighting..... i have never seen a plant THAT purple in real life..... and therefore one doesnt exist HAHAHAHAHA :D :D :D

Hey BG I gotta question for you. Do you have any XP with greenhouse seed co.? I've heard lots of indifferent reviews over the years, but I'm really tempted to give them a shot with their mix packs being color coded. I can't imagine for the price the genetics being to amazing, but then again I see you stand by nirvana and their another company with killer prices.

Nothing stupid about that, it actually sounds kind of cool! The best way to learn photography is experimentation and what works well for you. "You won't know if you don't try" was a great quote from a good friend of mine who makes a living doing photography, he was never formally schooled or anything he just started taking pics and experimenting in dark rooms, eventually he ended up selling his prints then getting a newspaper job which lead to magazines which led to a new full time career!! Keep trying things and don't forget nothings stupid, for every one person who doesn't like it there's 3 that do.

Yeah if you look at one of the bottom leaves there's some green patches, almost looks like it may be a bit of a deficiency and photoshop can be an amazing thing. But regardless that is one of the prettiest real or fake plants I've ever seen hahaha!

Hey Jipo, I grow mostly feminized Green House Seed Co. strains in my garden.

Here's the deal, be careful where you get your GHS seeds from. Gypsy Nirvana and Attitude are the ONLY two places I recommend buying GHS genetics from. Anything else is very difficult to stand by in my opinion... Personally I rarely order my seeds from a seed bank at all. Normally I will travel directly to the source to get my genetics. All the GHS genetics I currently have were acquired over seas directly from Francos hands.

GHS genetics are excellent. Top of the line if you ask me. Very pure with only a few varied phenotypes. Very STRONG genetics... You simply can't go wrong with GHS Co. Just mind your source.

PS- That picture is more than likely 100% genuine. Quite a lot of cannabis strains develope that pigmentation in the leaves near the end of bloom phase. Look at my gallery, I have a photo in there (low quality, sorry) of a plant I grew that turned a very pretty purple too. What was really awesome about that particular strain was the viens on the leaves stayed a bright bright green. It looked so wicked! She was SOOO damned sexy! If I had a better camera with a bright donkey flash and some outdoor lighting it would have looked absolutely stunning!

PSS- BEAUTIFUL photos everyone!

Great to know!! I only use attitude, I wish I was able to travel the world and meet these breeders or even just get things direct from them, however the funding just isn't there as with most people. What strains of theirs do you recommend? I really want to try Church, Arjans Haze and K Train.

Found 2 more shots in the vault!

Not the best focus and had no lighting at all but the Trich development on this Grand Daddy Purple was unreal! By far the best smoking and most potent bud I've ever been part of! ;)

And another shot of that Night Shade! I dub this one Doggy Style cuz its some true bud porn!
